🚨Peace and stability are essential. Authorities on both sides of the border (Djibouti & Somaliland) must take responsibility to support and contribute meaningfully to efforts to de-escalate the conflict & find a lasting resolution for the escalating crises in Salel & Awdal.

News: #PM_Abiy arrives in #UAE for working visit amid regional airspace disruptions
Addis Abeba – PM Abiy Ahmed arrived in the United Arab #Emirates earlier today for a working visit, his office said on Thursday.
His trip to the UAE comes a day after he joined a regional meeting in #Djibouti City hosted by Ismaïl #Omar_Guelleh alongside #Hassan_Sheikh Mohamud. The tripartite discussions focused on peace and security in the Horn of #Africa and broader regional cooperation.
The visit also follows a phone call on Wednesday between Abiy and #Marco_Rubio, during which the two discussed their “shared commitment to regional stability, counterterrorism cooperation, economic prosperity, and building a foundation for long-term security in the Horn of Africa.”
International travels to the UAE are disrupted following airspace instability linked to tensions between #Iran and #Gulf states which forced the temporary shutdown of airports across the UAE and the Gulf region.
#Zayed International Airport in #Abu_Dhabi resumed limited operations on 12 March after a week-long closure, with #Etihad Airways and #Emirates operating reduced flight schedules while airlines including #British Airways announced on 12 March suspensions or cancellations attributed to continued uncertainty and security risks.
On 12 March, the British Airways became the largest airline to announce it will be suspending its services to Abu Dhabi until the end of the year while canceling other destinations for the rest of the month.

The question of Somaliland’s international recognition is not merely a geopolitical debate; it is a moral, historical, and legal test of the principles the international community claims to uphold.

🚨 #BreakingNews : Somaliland Warns of Consequences Over Somalia’s "Inflammatory" Military Intervention Appeals
"The Government of Somaliland strongly condemns Somalia’s calls for foreign military intervention, which we deem a serious escalation and violation of international law," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation said in a press release.
"Somaliland restored its sovereignty in 1991 within its 1960 borders and has maintained peace and democratic governance since," the statement read. "We hold Somalia fully responsible for the consequences of this rhetoric, urge international partners to reject such appeals, and reaffirm our commitment to peace while reserving our right to self-defense."

Somaliland has learnt how to cope with disappointment and bounce back.
Crucially, Somaliland has demonstrated ability to turn adversity into opportunity.
In the course of the last 30 years, It proved its resilience, kept on doing the right thing to consolidate its internal stability, social cohesion and democratic state-building.
Today, it has a good chance of achieving international recognition.
In the plausible event Israel's recognition does not generate the sufficient diplomatic cascade in favour of its recognition, you can be sure Somaliland will not implode, nor will it self-immolate in despair.
The typical expected response, characteristic of its maturity and philosophical mindset, is to take disappointment well in its stride and maintain focus on its state-building.
"The world will not end if we are not recognised. There is tomorrow," is a refrain I constantly hear whenever I visit Somaliland.
This positive and philosophical mindset is Somaliland's greatest social capital and its beating heart - the source of its extraordinary strength and mental fortitude.
