Israeli Channel 12: An unprecedented confrontation has erupted between Israeli PM Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir over potential military action against Iran, reaching its peak in the past 24 hours.
Zamir fears that Netanyahu and the political leadership could trigger a short military confrontation with Iran through a miscalculation ahead of the elections. Military officials are also concerned that the Iranian issue could be exploited for political gain, an accusation strongly denied by political officials.
Zamir recently received instructions from the political leadership but demanded further discussions and signed legal authorization before proceeding. The tensions were particularly evident during a visit to Palmachim Airbase, where the atmosphere was described as extremely tense.

BREAKING: Netanyahu says Israel has fresh intelligence that Iran will launch attacks to disrupt the Israeli elections on Tuesday, and that Iran now poses a "real and tangible existential danger."
"This is the window of time we have left to complete the necessary work to ensure our physical existence for the coming years. All the required resources of the state must be invested in this mission," Netanyahu adds.
It comes after Netanyahu yesterday said that Iran has restarted its nuclear program and "wants to destroy us within a short time."
The IDF Chief of Staff warned yesterday that restarting the war this close to the vote would force it to be postponed indefinitely.
