But if we had to pay them , we'd get payment has to be made within 28 days in full
Replying to @CatholicBishops
@CatholicBishops Archbishop Martin entered legal commitments to pay 5 survivors of abuse @st_colmans a year ago agreed damages. No payment has been made. That failure is a serious breach of trust and has caused survivors further avoidable harm.

Thank you to everyone who stood with Birth Mothers and Their Children for Justice N.I. We're taking some much-needed rest to reflect and reset. We remember those no longer with us and those who never heard, “We believe you.” This moment is for them too. ❤️ #NeverForgotten

This is a hugely significant day for victims and survivors of Mother and Baby Homes, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses, as legislation to establish the public inquiry and redress scheme has now passed all stages. Work will now begin to establish both the public inquiry and the redress scheme. The women and children who endured these institutions suffered unimaginable cruelty and injustice. Today sends a clear message to them that we hear you, we see you, and we are committed to supporting you.

Interestingly, among (mostly modest and in some cases vague) proposals to reform Stormont, Sinn Féin has just proposed that the Speaker should no longer be able to do what Edwin Poots has done - effectively telling MLAs to get stuffed when he's asked to explain his decisions.

Edwin Poots is refusing to explain a highly irregular decision which makes little sense & has tens of millions of pounds riding on it. Stormont's Speaker says we've no right to know why he acted as he did. Amid growing questions, this may end up in court. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

#Motherandbabyhomes The @niassembly speaker refused the amendment proposed by committee to include survivors who died after 29 September 2011 This amendment was to support many who have campaigned for over a decade for justice. Our clients & the MLAs ask why @MckeeganClaire
