Replying to @BNembot
@BNembot, CEO of #Billdr, flew in for #OneWaySummit next week. Caught up today. Procore built a $10B+ company serving the biggest construction players. Everyone doing home and commercial renovations got left with spreadsheets. That’s most of the industry. Billdr is going straight at it. Best traction I’ve seen from them. Proud to back this team at @onewayvc. At the Summit Oct 28–29? Go find him.

Powerful rule for life: Never make a permanent decision based on a temporary feeling. Bad days pass. Anger fades. Fear settles. Just learn to pause. Take a walk. Sleep on it. Give it a minute. You can always act tomorrow. You can't always undo a rushed decision made today.

Many startup employees do not recognize the sheer litany of ways that a founder can screw you over without you even knowing. Founder trust is one of the most important things to look at when you’re joining a startup. From cutting you out of M&A, screwing your retention pool, overdiluting your equity, firing you before your cliff, not having attractive options exercise plans, poor 409a price management, not telling you about QSBS / early exercise, blocking you from participating in secondary, obscuring company performance and many more. Many many decisions that are made in rooms you are not in as an employee where the only thing that matters is: “does the founder have your back?” Great startups with untrustworthy founders lead to poor outcomes and often good startups with trustworthy founders lead to great outcomes. Pick wisely.

When software was expensive - thin, horizontal, best-of-breed software stacks extracted rents across every business. Now that software is cheap - value moves to vertically integrated businesses that deliver opinionated end-to-end experiences.

Today, hundreds of GCs overseeing thousands of construction workers rely on Billdr PRO to run more efficient operations. Over 1B in construction projects flow through the platform annually. We're still very early in our journey.
