Some arrive with loud accents, some with silent wounds. Some cross oceans with passports, others cross sorrow without a map. We build fences around language, around skin, around names, forgetting that even the wind belongs to no nation. The child born in one land may die in another. The rich man with ten houses still sleeps on borrowed earth. History itself is migration. Bloodlines are footsteps. Every civilization was once a stranger knocking on someone else’s door. Yet we walk proudly, calling others outsiders, as though permanence was promised to us, as though dust had citizenship. In the end, the soil receives us equally. No border follows the dead. No anthem is sung beneath the grave. Perhaps humanity begins the moment we understand this: that all of us are temporary travelers, wearing different languages under the same fragile sky, And that we are all foreigners in this world.

A woman in Kansas recently went to cast her vote while already in labour, with contractions minutes apart, before heading to the hospital. That is how seriously some people take the power of their vote. If we are genuinely unhappy with the direction of Nigeria, then showing up at the polls must become more important than complaining from home. And to everyone voting in a presidential election for the first time: this is one of the first major decisions you will make about the country you may spend the next several decades living in. Do not waste it because politics feels dirty, because your friends are uninterested, or because someone else tells you your vote does not matter. Study the candidates. Question their plans. Look beyond tribe, religion, party and social-media excitement. Ask yourself what kind of Nigeria you want to inherit, and what kind you eventually want to hand over. Then show up. Years from now, whatever Nigeria becomes, you should be able to say: when I had the opportunity to participate, I did not surrender my voice. I made my own choice, and I voted according to my conscience.

Because people have become comfortable with being poor.
Only in Nigeria will a politician make people poor and the poor will support him

I was discussing this with a friend today: A man in his 30s still lives with his mother. One day, his mother asks to borrow some money from him so she can buy food for the house. She buys the food, and both mother and son eat from it. Now the question is: Should the son still ask his mother to pay the money back, since it was originally borrowed? Or does the fact that the money was used to feed both of them change the situation? What do you think?

Africa's problem is far greater than Africans simply returning home 1. I understand the sentiment behind the statement, "Go back to your ancestral home and fix it." 2. Indeed, I share the conviction that Africans must eventually take responsibility for rebuilding their ancestral lands. 3. But there is a tragedy we must first understand: you cannot rebuild a civilisation merely by returning its people to the ruins of their inheritance. 4. Africa's predicament is not simply a shortage of educated people. 5. It is the inheritance of systems that have, for generations, weakened our capacity for independent thought, invention and collective progress. 6. Consider religion. 7. When brothers are taught to distrust one another because one worships in a church and another in a mosque, cooperation becomes difficult. 8. When children grow up hearing that everything is vanity, that their Heavenly Father will provide as He provides for the birds of the air, and that their rewards await them in heaven, some begin to substitute expectation for enterprise. 9. Then consider education. 10. We produce engineers who have never built machines, agricultural graduates who have never cultivated farms, and scientists without functional laboratories. 11. We manufacture certificates faster than we manufacture solutions. 12. We have educated the mind to recite, but not sufficiently trained the hands to create. 13. And now we tell these people to return home and rebuild Africa. 14. Rebuild with what? 15. Without the necessary industrial infrastructure, technical experience, investment and institutions, patriotism alone cannot manufacture prosperity. 16. China offers an instructive lesson. 17. Its industrial transformation required decades of technical education, manufacturing, infrastructure development, adaptation and deliberate investment in productive capacity. 18. Africa must undertake a similar transformation, suited to its own circumstances. 19. We must reform education to produce builders rather than certificate collectors. 20. We must challenge religious teachings that discourage human agency, while building societies where differences in belief do not prevent cooperation. 21. Otherwise, we may return millions of Africans home, only for them to resume arguing about who owns the biggest mansion, whose wife is more beautiful, whose pastor is more powerful, and whose ancestral spirits are responsible for another man's misfortune. 22. The problem is not merely geographical. It is institutional, intellectual and psychological. 23. A man whose hands have been denied tools and whose mind has been conditioned to surrender its agency cannot suddenly become a builder merely because he has crossed a border. 24. So yes, Africans must rebuild Africa. 25. But first, we must begin rebuilding the systems that produce Africans. 26. For returning home is a journey of the body. 27. Rebuilding a civilisation requires the liberation of the mind.
Go back to your ancestral home and fix it...Stop begging to be accepted in a society build by others.. Ndi isi Ojii!!.

What the mind sits with long enough, it eventually begins to call normal. And what it calls normal today quietly becomes the path it follows tomorrow.

Abduction Of Youth Corps Members: Time To Suspend And Then Scrap the @officialnyscng Scheme Is Now It has been my consistent position since 2019, during my first run for the presidency, that the National Youth Service Corps (@officialnyscng ) has outlived its usefulness in its present form. The recent abduction of young Nigerians travelling to their NYSC orientation camps along the Owerri–Onitsha Road once again exposes the danger of compelling our young people to travel across an increasingly insecure country in the name of national service. You cannot force young Nigerians to “serve their fatherland” when the same country cannot guarantee their safety while they travel to their places of service. The NYSC should be suspended immediately and ultimately scrapped. In the meantime, all corps members should be given the option to serve within their states of origin. No young Nigerian should be forced to travel hundreds of kilometres into unfamiliar and insecure territory simply to fulfil a compulsory national service requirement. Under a #Sowore2027 presidency, we will replace the NYSC with a new two year voluntary National Job Corps focused on real employment, skills development, public works, technology, agriculture, healthcare, education and other productive national priorities. Young Nigerians need jobs, opportunities, skills and security, not compulsory deployment into danger. The time to suspend the NYSC is NOW. The time to scrap this outdated scheme has come. #Sowore2027 #TakeItBack

NYSC K+dnap: Abductors Demand N950m Ransom For Corp Members Travelling From Ibadan To Orientation Camps Abductors who seized 19 prospective NYSC members travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to their orientation camps in Abia and Akwa Ibom states have reportedly demanded N950m for their release. The victims were travelling in two buses when g+nmen att@cked them along the Owerri-Onitsha Road in Umunoha, Imo State, on Thursday. The Managing Director of Uko Akwa Ibom Motors Nigeria Limited, Isiah Akpan, said the abductors demanded N50m for each victim. According to him, the buses left Bodija/Samonda Park in Ibadan on Wednesday but were delayed by traffic around Benin before reaching Onitsha late in the day. The passengers spent the night in Oba and resumed their journey around 5am on Thursday. Akpan said they had barely entered Imo State when g+nmen emerged from the bush. “They blocked the two vehicles and took 19 passengers, all corps members, into the bush,” he said. The drivers reportedly escaped and alerted security personnel, prompting police and military operatives to launch a search. Families of some victims also said the abductors contacted them using the victims’ phones and demanded N50m for each person. One mother, Mrs Oladosu, said her daughter Greatness and other corps members were briefly shown to the family during a video call. “They used my daughter’s number to call us. We saw her and other corps members sitting on the ground in the bush, crying,” she said. The Imo State Police Command had earlier announced that 10 victims were rescued, while security agencies continued efforts to locate the remaining victims. Meanwhile, the Oyo State Government condemned the abduction and said Governor Seyi Makinde had directed that necessary resources be deployed to secure their release. “We are fully committed to securing the safe release of our children and will stop at nothing to ensure that they are reunited with their families without harm,” Commissioner for Information Dotun Oyelade said.
