Finally someone said it. Unfortunately wasn't me:
Unity splash screen hurts more a game than AI disclosure.

if you want to open the door, just do things. stop getting distracted and fooling yourself into thinking your consumptive activities are valuable or are "research" -> go make things
as far as I'm aware this industry in particular has always favored the people that can just make things, and never favored anyone else.
CD Projekt Red has hired so many Cyberpunk 2077 modders that Cyberpunk 2’s associate game director says around half of the quest team are former modders.
Pawel Sasko says modding can be a “foot-in-the-door technique” and a “gateway into game dev,” giving talented fans real experience with how games are built.
“We actually hired so many modders. I would say, at this point, half of the quest team is all former modders.”
Some of the developers working at CD Projekt Red started out making mods as far back as The Witcher 2.
Posting when someone blocks you is cringe
The Hideki Kamiya philosophy wins out every time - block everyone and everything for any reason you want
you're not allowed to post things on this website that make people unhappy, that's against the rules

Last year anyone who predicted and warned us to prepare for the impact of fully AI-generated games was met with derision and abuse. Now in late 2026 we've entered the clone and decomp slopocalypse
*things will continue to progress*
AI “vibe coding” is starting to create a serious problem for the video game industry.
The release of Claude Opus 5.5 has made it much easier to decompile and recompile games, leading to a wave of unofficial ports, mods and game clones. Publishers are already filing DMCA takedowns over some of this activity. Kotaku
Former Take-Two AI chief Luke Dicken says developers and publishers need to take the trend seriously:
“This new wave of decompile-and-port is definitely something that developers and publishers need to take seriously.”
“More invasive DRM, platform-level solutions, and probably more of a push towards streaming solutions.”
Godot executive director Emilio Coppola puts more responsibility on platforms such as Steam, arguing that developers have very few ways to protect themselves while bad actors can profit from selling AI-made clones:
“The burden should fall onto the platforms who are enabling this sort of behavior.”
There’s also a growing concern among indie developers about showing unfinished games publicly. Coppola says he has heard from developers who are now:
“Worried and anxious to even share early access versions of their games”
Even if you hide your super cool high-concept game idea and shadow drop the release, people will still be faced with the decision to either spend money on yours or to just vibe clone their own version by asking chatbbt
High-concept single-player games are in real danger here
pretty good preparation for the corporate world, where not everybody is a perfect communicator, and the ability to interpret the *spirit* of what someone means is a far more valuable skill than just executing instructions like a robot
