THE DEVILS is a deeply upsetting film but a thought provoking look at abuse of powers in religion, politics, and relationships. A film with such strong craft that I found myself engrossed from beginning to end. It’s so important for films like this to exist. 10/10.

I went into THE DEVILS completely blind and having never seen it. I walked out witnessing one of the greatest films of all time. A theatrical experience I’ll never forget.

Derek Jarmen’s sets are the biggest winner of the new restoration. I’ve seen this movie before a couple of times, but seeing this new transfer on the big screen I almost said “Oh my god” out loud a couple of times when it cut to an establishing shot of the sets.
“The restoration of the material is like cleaning the Sistine Chapel with saliva. I’ve never seen the movie until I saw this restoration.” Guillermo del Toro Over 164,472 frames of 35mm film were restored to bring to life KEN RUSSELL'S THE DEVILS. Premiering today at @tiff_net.

It actually is that good. With caveats, everyone should know what they're getting into. It's made to disturb you and it does. If that's not something you can do, then don't. But man, it's outstanding.

Local man suffers from being too hot, a weak pull-out game, and a city not separated by church and state. 5 stars.

The best part of Ken Russell's The Devils is that all the controversy takes a backseat to it being a really good fucking movie.

I can’t stop thinking about Grandier big dicking the Baron rolling up with his crew and nothing but a bunch of papers in his hand and then delivering an anti-nationalist sermon to his flock. God it’s the coolest movie ever

The restoration of THE DEVILS is a revelation. Felt like witnessing a resurrection, as fiery and vital as ever. The fury of Russell's images feels somehow sacred and profane, its portrait of religious corruption and state decadence undimmed by time.

Three movies later, Jane Levy is teasing 'Evil Dead' fans about a potential return for her character Mia Allen after she survived the bloody events of the 2013 reboot. During a post-screening Q&A for the Fede Álvarez-written/directed horror film, which was hosted by Contra Celluloid, the actress fueled recent rumors that she will reprise her character for the 2028 prequel 'Evil Dead Wrath' or a future installment in the Sam Raimi franchise. "I have a question. Do you guys think Mia should come back to 'Evil Dead'?" she asked in a video from the Q&A, igniting applause from the audience. "OK cool, I was just checking. That's all." Levy then joked, "Let's call Sam's Skype number right now and see if he wants Mia to come back." Read more here: deadline.com/2026/10/jane-le…
