China's Liaoning carrier strike group entered the Philippine Sea as the USS Theodore Roosevelt conducted massive military drills with American allies.
The exercises involved 56,000 US and Japanese troops, 260 aircraft and 40 warships, with missile systems deployed just 70 miles from Taiwan.
Both carrier groups operated in the same strategic waters, raising concerns over a potential confrontation.
The Roosevelt has since departed for Singapore, while China's Liaoning remained in the Philippine Sea as of November 4.

NYPD Officers Stop Woman Walking Her Dog at 3 AM in Manhattan Bystanders Intervene
Around 3 a.m. in Murray Hill, two NYPD officers stopped a woman walking her small leashed dog. She said she had the walk signal and repeatedly asked what law she broke. One officer briefly held her arm while they discussed a possible summons. Bystanders filmed, called 911, and demanded a supervisor. The dog was never taken.
The long clip shows officers struggling to clearly state the exact violation. No official statement has confirmed the basis for the stop. Claims about the officers’ religion or motive come only from appearance and captions, not the footage itself take a look what do you see?
When a 3 a.m. stop requires bystanders to step in and officers can’t immediately explain the law do they make them up as they go?

Two Muslim cops in New York stopped a nurse for no apparent reason other than that she was walking her dog.
They cornered her and threatened to seize her dog. When confronted, they got angry and couldn’t say what law she had broken.
This is what happens when you give these people power. All I can say is that she was lucky there were passersby, because it was 3 AM and things could’ve ended much worse.

Alex Wellerstein, the nuclear weapons historian behind the NUKEMAP simulator, says the danger hides in the math:
“A small level of contamination spread over a very large population, even if it increases your cancers by 1 or 2%, that adds up to like real numbers.”
Any talk of a “limited” nuclear strike on Iran has to count those deaths too, years after the blast itself is gone.
