I still don't see it with the D pairs just yet. But seeing 93 and 16 running their own lines, and considering the first line plus 18-22 on the shelf, I could see the four line plan with 97-29-93-16 down the middle. That's the way

Only 5 AHL goalies born in 2002 had a .900+ SV% in 25-26. As you can see from the chart, the goalies that end up as 1A/1B NHL netminders tend to be showing strong signs by age 23, if not already in the NHL. Postava .937 Cossa .915 Blomqvist .913 Merilainen .909 Commesso .901
How Cossa's AHL stats at age 23 compared with current NHL goalies.

Pens clearly have a surplus of forwards. That said, moving on from Filip Hallander seems excessive - arguably far too excessive #LetsGoPens
TRADE 🔄 The #Oilers have acquired forward Filip Hallander from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenceman Spencer Stastney.

Understanding your own team is more important than understanding your opponent. What can my players do? Where do they struggle? Will I bloody my head against the wall trying to change them? Or can I work wifh what I have?

Also funny thing: - scouting & stats are just sources of information - analytics is just the process of testing/researching that information, whether scouting or stats - eye test though is just using your brain to try and sort that information yourself The eye test is analytics
Analytics vs. Eye Test discourse is so funny because anti-analytics people make it sound like the two are inherently contradictory, and analytics people are magically making up numbers out of nowhere.

Some personal news. I am leaving @dfoedmonton (formerly OilersNation), and starting a Substack. I wanted to say that I'm very grateful to @jsbmbaggedmilk & @zjlaing. Their support over my 5 years at ON was wonderful, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity they gave me.

This isn't the first time the USA has placed 50% tariffs on Canada. In 1890, the USA's Tariff Act was touted as a way to build up American industry, but the true goal was forcing the annexation of Canada. It backfired and made Canada stronger. This is the story. 📸 LoC 🧵1/10
