I really do think this sort of imbalance causes real problems for advanced metrics, particularly efficiency metrics. Win expectancy will probably side an unrealistically with LSU and Ohio State. I do think a lot of stats are more “X% of teams who did this happened to win,” and not “these stats will win you the game X% of the time.” That distinction means we probably treat certain synthetic metrics as more predictive than they really are, particularly with something like Bama’s bend-but-don’t-break defense or Ohio State’s long drive offense generating empty yards between the 20s.
LSU outgained Alabama 457-281. And lost by EIGHTEEN points. Since 2000, only 14 FBS teams have outgained an opponent by 175+ yards and lost by 18+. The last? TCU, exactly 11 years ago today. via IronFootball.app @ironfbstats

🚨 THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE 🚨 Vandy is going to win! All 16 SEC teams, each having beaten the next. The largest circle EVER. I checked every season from 1933–2026. Only the THIRD time the entire SEC has formed a circle - and the FIRST before the final weekend. 2005 and 2006 (only other 2 times) needed all season and only had 12 teams. We did it in early November. What a time to be alive.
🚨SEC CIRCLE OF CHAOS🚨 The circle is at 12 teams, but it’s GUARANTEED to grow Saturday. Just three games determine how big it gets: - Vanderbilt wins → 16 teams - Arkansas wins → At least 15 - Texas A&M wins → At least 14 For the circle to stop at 13, Mississippi State, Auburn AND South Carolina must all win. And there is a 30% chance all 16 SEC teams make the circle!

Bama game all over again. Got behind, took chances but came up short, and it led to short field scores...and a blowout.

Tennessee has struggled to find explosives since Week 3. That has all gone away tonight (6 for 211). Kentucky has been the more efficient team but -3 TO and losing the explosive play battle in this big of way is too much to overcome.

Down 14. 4th and 7. 2:36 left. Minnesota punted. Football has been around since the 1800s and this might be the most unusual punt decision in its history.

Gate security here in Neyland Stadium said they haven’t had to handle this many opposing (Kentucky) fans for their team’s entrance so they were scrambling to pull out extra gates to contain everyone. BBN is ready for one of the biggest opportunities in program history.

We’ve had this conversation before. I don’t expect a title every year but I do expect us to be in the conversation every year. If Pope can’t do that, he’s not good enough to coach at Kentucky. Pope has never had a top 50 defense. The national champ was never lower than 37

Reminder that Democrats never win by convincing Republicans to vote for them, they win by convincing people who aren’t usually politically active to get politically active.
This is really interesting:

Mississippi used CREDIT reports to determine who is an active voter! Anyone who doesn’t have a credit card was listed as an INACTIVE VOTER! There’s NO CONNECTION between using credit cards and voting! Many registered active voters had to fill out PROVISIONAL BALLOTS!
The reason there is so many affidavit votes is because the Mississippi Secretary of State purged the voting rolls by having Experian come in & clean them up which marked over 50,000 voters inactive before the midterms. So the only way they could vote was to vote by affidavit.

Ok, here's something that makes it even more insane. Kirk's Hot Sauce is now only available in one grocery store in Florida. Erika Kirk lives in Arizona. The clip is from December, so maybe it was in more grocery stores then? I looked and can't find any evidence of that. So for what she said to be true, she would've had to happen to be shopping at that one grocery store and by coincidence seen it on the shelf. Grocery stores are large places, and the odds of seeing any particular product are low. It seems likely that she was lying about this in order to plug the hot sauce on Fox News. Is it possible she meant "his favorite hot sauce"? I don't think so. I think you would naturally say his favorite hot sauce in that situation, you wouldn't call it "his hot sauce." And plus, he does actually have a branded hot sauce, which would be a remarkable coincidence.

We really live in a world where #6 Kentucky is taking over #13 Tennessee in arguably the best matchup of the GREATEST college football weekend EVER. What a time to be alive.

God dont like ugly! Hyde-Smith refused to return her Senate blue slip, a procedural approval traditionally needed for judicial nominees. Without her approval, Colom's nomination never advanced to a confirmation hearing. Hyde-Smith later openly stated: "He thought he was going to be a federal judge, and I blocked him." Now he has her Job!

Alright guys here's the play. We're going to miss the two pointer, because we don't want the tie, we want the win. So on the kickoff, instead of an onside kick, we're gonna kick a looping knuckleball at a random walk-on that doesnt have a jersey nameplate and ruin his whole life. Then instead of running the clock out? We'll kick it with 40 seconds left. As a joke. Then we'll pick them off when they think they have hope. Ready? Break.
