Apologies to Debby Pope, who was endorsed by the Chicago Federation of Labor, but I mistakenly left out that endorsement. Here is the corrected matrix:

An under-discussed result of the Chicago School Board election was a high degree of 'ticket-splitting', where districts backed a CTU-endorsee for the Board, while backing CTU-opposed Jessica @biggs4chicago for Board President. 6 (maybe 7?) districts saw this (of 20!) #twill
To no one's surprise, the incoming Chicago school board will have to figure out how to work together. But promising signs of consensus are emerging on some major issues. Learn more in today's Board Rule. board-rule.ghost.io/how-will…
Welch was the linchpin on which CTU-allied members made their case to amend the CPS budget to include $150 million in additional state money. This makes the prospects of getting that money in veto session appear even slimmer.

"Sisters are doing it for themselves. The number of men on the Chicago Board of Education will drop from eight to five when the newly elected board takes office. Seven races featured a head-to-head matchup between a man and a woman, and the women won six of them."

When she takes office in January, Biggs will lead a 21-member board grappling with mounting budget deficits, declining enrollment and contentious decisions over the future of underenrolled schools.

If current numbers hold, it looks as if School Board President-elect Jessica Biggs will lead an evenly divided 20 member board between CTU and non-CTU candidates. If those loyalties stand - CTU will lose its majority on the board as Biggs would cast the tie-breaking vote on policies like the budget. CPS is in for some very contentious and interesting school board meetings in the coming months and years.

This is the line for Chicago’s downtown voting super site at 3:30pm. It wraps from 137 S. State St. all the way around State, Monroe and halfway down the block on Wabash.
The wait time? 2 hours 10 minutes according to the person at the front of the line.
