Being involved in sports has taught me many things—like how to more appropriately respond & work thru adversity & challenges. I’m a better husband, dad, son, sibling, friend, employee, colleague, supervisor, coach, & human because of it…& I’m thankful even on the toughest days.

Athletic frame; controlled body; works a good at bat and finally gets a pitch he likes as he smokes a line drive to CF for a 2 RBI single.

PSA for high school baseball players: you can be a good baseball player and a good human at the same time.

If you're proud of a player.
Tell him.
If you're disappointed in a player.
Tell him.
If a player is in your doghouse.
Tell him.
If a player role is changing.
Tell him.
If a player does something that bothers you.
Tell him.
Dynamic coaches are dynamic communicators.
They treat players how they'd want to be treated as a player.

As an AD, I remind our coaches their job is to develop athletes but also play the best players to win. There will always be parents upset about playing time, and there will always be parents upset about losing. So you might as well coach to win while continuing to develop your athletes the right way.

Coastal Alabama South got the right kid committed.
CJ is what juco All Americans look like in high school.
Great job of recruiting by the staff at Coastal Alabama South.
Blessed for this opportunity

Everybody wants discipline… until discipline gets loud.
Everybody wants toughness… until toughness gets uncomfortable.
Hard coaching isn’t abuse.
Hard coaching is correction.
Hard coaching is standards.
Hard coaching is loving a kid enough not to let him stay average.
If a coach is demanding effort, detail, toughness, and accountability bothers you… that probably says more about today’s culture than it does the coach.

Stop letting your best player set the lowest standard. The most dangerous thing in any program is a talented player with unchecked character.

Everyone says “team first.”
Until it costs them at-bats.
Or innings.
Or recognition.
That’s when you find out who’s real and who was just talking.

College Coaches.
Do you come as advertised?
When you tell mama's and daddies during the recruiting process, you're going to take care of their sons.
Do you mean it?
Do you build relationships with your players?
Do you get to know them?
Do you care about them as people or only as players?
Do you go the extra mile for the ones that need help?
Do you really care about them?
and
Do your players know you care about them?

You know what's probably stunting your growth as a player or coach?
Your dumb ass ego.
Shut up and do what's best for the team.

Strong athletic frame; good pop off the bat; gets good separation; gets his hands out and smokes one right to the LF.
