Great to see @HomelessAPPG member @deirdrecostigan raising families facing & experiencing the worst forms of homelessness with the Prime Minister today. We look forward to working with the Government to get Britain back on track to ending homelessness.

“It is unjustifiable that people who are sleeping rough, and having to move between night buses, doorways and 24-hour cafes to keep warm, could also be fined or prosecuted just for trying to stay safe."

If you are sleeping rough, you can still be fined up to £1,000 under the Vagrancy Act.
This is unjustifiable in 21st century Britain.

"I’d go even further by stating the obvious. JD Vance, in reality, is only pick for Vice President of the United States because he happens to tick the relevant identity boxes that according to the modern right need to be ticked. Man? Tick. White? Tick. Sociopath? Tick."

We need to end homelessness with homes. That's why we welcome @AngelaRayner's promise to parliament that the Government will introduce meaningful housing targets for social and affordable homes. This will help ensure everyone has a safe, secure home.

Thanks for having me (bright and early!) this morning @SkyNews to talk about the really important topic of how the next Government needs to take action on homelessness. Everyone needs a safe, secure home

🧵 New trail exploring the history of Cardiff’s Dock Feeder Canal
Built in the 1830s, the Dock Feeder entered a new phase in its history recently, when a section that had been hidden beneath Churchill Way in Cardiff city centre since 1948 was uncovered.

someone should set up a version of the New Statesman for the Labour Party
Why Priti Patel might be the next Conservative leader*. My piece for @NewStatesman on the leadership pitch that the Tory right might find persuasive.
*As opposed to why she should be leader. FTAOD this is not an unlikely endorsement. newstatesman.com/comment/202…

It’s hard to explain how much Barry John means to Welsh rugby. I wasn’t raised watching The King, but I was raised on the folklore. The legend, the stories, the Max Boyce lines. Barry John is a player we’ll tell stories and sings songs about forever. A unique, special figure.
Barry John, the legendary former Cardiff, Wales and British and Irish Lions fly-half has died aged 79.
R.I.P Barry. 🏴❤️

There's a RL clip doing the rounds of a cis woman making a big hit, and people are falsely saying she's trans because of her size & haircut.
This policing of women's bodies is what bans like WR's leads to, and this kind of misinformation is what caused it in the first place.

20 years of occupying Afghanistan didn’t destroy the Taliban. Getting angry at me doesn’t actually make your strategy more viable. When this cycle of violence finally subsides & Hamas still exists, who will you shout at next?
