Foolishly boasting about being the biggest party whilst being decimated in the cities that power the economy is akin to a eunuch boasting about his virility.
And the conspiratorial nonsense about shadowy 3rd forces being responsible for our electoral humbling is dangerous precisely because it prevents us from confronting the real reasons for our woes, namely institutionalized factionalism and not fit for purpose governance framework and culture.

Another thing I think people missed with Rise Mzansi and the point I guess Songezo made is that they ran a very targeted campaign and probably had interest in maybe 2-3 municipalities but really their only interest was getting Lukhona in to Johannesburg and it worked!🤷♂️ …he’s in
The irony is that the DA will tell you that they don’t see race and font campaign targeting “black” or “white” but today they will tell you they’ve received increased support from black voters. Can’t have your cake and eat it, it’s either as a party you see race, or you don’t
In 2021, DA got 2.5 million votes nationally(21.6%). ANC got 5.4 million votes nationally (45%) . Post GNU, the DA got 3.5 million votes (24.9%) increasing their votes by 960 00. ANC got 4.4 million votes (30.9%), decreasing our votes by 966 000. Relationship not working at all!

Once again, the narrow xenophobic and self hating narrative of “abahambe” has been rejected by South Africans in this election, Xenophobia & narrow divisive politics have no place in our country!

As a voter maybe you guys need to rethink your stance. Right now everyone is coming across as arrogant and unwilling to admit what this loss means for the party and its failures to govern.
No one voted for the DA, their original voter base just came out strong to the polls. They’ve got a solid white voter base that is united and always shows up. They thrive off swart gevaar.

Don’t think calling someone an ANC beneficiary is a “gotcha” moment or an insult. EVERY SOUTH AFRICAN is a beneficiary of the ANC.
We are standing in lines today to vote because of them (and others).
Reflect on that.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN IM VOTING ANC!

You give the Man Utd fans work ethic and show some heart and they will back you through it all.
The 2nd half showed that.
The team showed heart and character to turn this game around.
Cling on to the feeling tonight has given you boys and remember what got you the result.
Sheer determination and work ethic were the foundations of that second half turnaround!
We got there in the end 👊🏽❤️
