Added $5 trial on TinyAdz.com to let everyone test it.
(includes A/B testing)
My MongoDB Atlas bill EXPLODED from $67 to $770 in ONE month.
$343 of that? Data transfer costs.
Here's the truth most founders miss about database costs: π§΅
speed anymore. It's about protecting your runway.
Every bloated field you store and every crappy query is literally cash walking out the door.
In the startup world this stuff gets expensive real fast.
The honeymoon phase of AI models is real.
Each time a new Kivi / Banana / Mondarino next-gen image AI drops, the results look amazing.
A few weeks later: same prompt, same model - results way worse.
Feels like they cut 90% of the GPU once the hype is gone.
MongoDB Cloud turns insane on cost once I scale.
Moving to self-hosted on Hetzner, hopefully no regrets.
Or would I?
Supabase and Vercel make shipping look easy.
The truth comes later.

Modern marketing isnβt a game.
Itβs a street fight for the customer.
find the pain β sell the relief β measure β adapt β repeat.
win or go home
I repeat these to handle millions of MongoDB queries a day in TinyAdz
- index where it matters
- denormalize for simple reads
- split business logic from content fetching
- split traffic into API nodes by pace
- queries only read ready-to-go data
- pre-calculate & cache when possible
... monitor, measure, improve

Weβre not heading toward a smarter generation
Everyone keeps asking me what makes @cluely so special, they don't get the "cheat at everything" marketing pitch.
Here's what makes Cluely so special in two words:
Realtime Notes
Nobody else does this, not Fathom, not Granola, it's a world's first, and @im_roy_lee and team are getting a very serious lead on anyone else who decides to start offering anything remotely close.
Don't sleep on Cluely, it isn't hype, it's a foundational change in how we use AI, from after to during.
My tagline for it is: "don't summarize - realize"
And that's why my Dock now looks like this π½
