Oh yes! personal branding is less about visibility and more about strategic positioning; making leadership expertise, values and impact clear and credible.
Competence builds credibility. A strong personal brand amplifies it.
Happy to make the case via @BrandHelp1 one on ones🙌🏽
Personal branding is underrated in leadership because many executives confuse it with superficial self-promotion rather than viewing it as a core driver of trust, clarity, and organizational impact.
Reconsider your position, personal branding should be on the menu. Ask @lyn2ki

Today, I’ll be facilitating a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session with surgeons on Personal Branding in Modern Practice.
The best surgeons deserve to be known, not just by referral, but by reputation.
For a long time, personal branding was seen as something for influencers, entrepreneurs, or corporate leaders.
Not surgeons.
But that thinking is changing and for good reason.
Today, being an excellent surgeon is no longer just about clinical skill. It is also about being known, trust, and clarity of expertise.
Patients are more informed. They research. They compare. They ask questions before they ever step into a consultation room.
So the question is beyond “Are you competent?”
It is also “Why should I trust you?”
This is where personal branding comes in.
Personal branding for surgeons is not about self-promotion or vanity.
It is about:
- Communicating your area of expertise clearly
- Building trust before the first interaction
- Sharing knowledge that educates and reassures patients
- Positioning yourself as a credible voice in your field
A strong professional brand does not replace competence.
It amplifies it.

How do you grow your brand?
How do you build visibility and credibility?
How do you remain authentic, ethical, and professional?
This Women’s Month, I have the honour of facilitating a session on Personal Branding at the Women in Accountancy Forum hosted by the @ICPAU1 (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda)
In today’s profession, competence is expected.
Clarity and strategic positioning are what differentiate you.
As women in accounting, audit, finance, consultancy, and governance, we carry technical expertise; but many struggle with translating that expertise into influence.
In this session, we will explore:
• Building a brand rooted in credibility and integrity
• Strengthening executive presence without compromising authenticity
• Positioning your expertise for leadership opportunities
• Managing visibility while sustaining wellbeing
Personal branding is not self-promotion.
It is strategic clarity about who you are, the value you bring, and how consistently you communicate it.
This Women’s Month, let’s move beyond celebration and invest in elevation.
If you are ready to strengthen your professional voice and leadership presence, I look forward to seeing you at the Women in Accountancy Forum.

Not sure about the big eyes 😁 everything else seemingly fits:).
Well here goes…..
I smiled when I saw this caricature; because ChatGPT captured me exactly as I would want to be seen.
Let’s be very clear: professionals saying “I don’t want a personal brand” is not a neutral position.
It is a decision to let the internet define you.
When I saw this caricature, I immediately recognised it as my desired and actual positioning versus perceived positioning. Not because it is flattering; but because it is intentional. Strategic. Aligned with how I lead, speak, and show up professionally.
While at @BrandHelp1, I speak to too many capable professionals that resist personal branding as if it is optional or indulgent. It is neither.
Your online presence already exists; through search results, silence, outdated profiles, third-party content, and algorithmic interpretation. The only question is whether that presence is accurate, credible, and working in your favour.
If you are not shaping your positioning deliberately, Google, ChatGPT, Gemini will do it for you. And Google has no interest in your nuance, your depth, or your potential. It simply reflects what is easiest to find.
This is where opportunities are lost; quietly.
No rejection email. No explanation. Just invisibility.
Here is the thing; online personal branding is not about noise or self-promotion. It is about control, credibility, and leadership visibility. In a world where attention precedes trust, absence is not humility; it is risk.
So let’s stop pretending this is a choice between branding and authenticity. The real choice is this:
Do you want to be positioned deliberately, or are you comfortable being misrepresented by default?
Many are too busy doing great things but very little telling of the impact they create. It’s for this reason I birthed Brand help; to hand hold professionals looking to grow their online personal brands.
Now here is a simple exercise or test for you:
Prompt ChatGPT with the below and share.
"What do you know about me? Create a caricature of me and my job based on everything you know about me."
You'll need to attach a photo of you.
Happy positioning! :)

We’re moving beyond just titles and expertise to help you build a brand that speaks with authority. Join us at Skyz Hotel for a morning of transformation, high-level networking, and strategic positioning.
Ready to stop being a 'silent expert' and start leading the conversation?
There is no perfect rulebook for personal branding; except this one: you have to start.
At the first edition of our Personal Branding Masterclass, Dr. Paul Kasenene reminded us of a powerful truth:
You don’t need a flawless blueprint to begin. Clarity comes after action, not before it.
Here’s what many professionals miss;
• Visibility grows through consistency, not perfection
• Credibility is built by showing up before you feel “ready”
• Your brand already exists; silence just lets others define it
Waiting for “perfect” is often just fear dressed up as preparation.
So the real question is:
Are you ready to stop waiting; and start intentionally shaping how you’re seen, trusted, and remembered?

Was an honor meeting the Lead Economist @BOU_Official & Financial Literacy Educator @PumlaNabachwa speaker at the upcoming #PersonalBranding Masterclass by @BrandHelp1 @lyn2ki Believing that astrong personal brand drives impact, I look 4ward to learning abt intentional visibility
As we step into the year, the most powerful question for today’s leaders is no longer “What do I do?”
It is “How am I perceived?”
In a reputation-driven leadership era, expertise is the entry point;but influence is the differentiator.
Your personal brand determines whether your knowledge stays quiet or becomes a voice that shapes decisions, conversations, and industries.
For the second edition of the personal branding masterclass by @BrandHelp1, we are honoured to welcome Mr. Patrick Bitature, Founder, Chairman, and Group CEO of the Simba Group of Companies, as our Keynote Speaker at the Personal Branding Masterclass for Executives.

Founding a personal branding agency focused on LinkedIn is not for the faint-hearted.
It looks simple from the outside. Post consistently. Build an audience. Grow influence.
In reality, it means sitting with people’s stories, doubts, and ambitions; and helping them find a voice that feels authentic, not performative.
It means explaining that visibility is a long game, not a viral moment.
- That credibility matters more than cleverness.
- That showing up as yourself takes more courage than copying what already works.
Some days, the work is strategic. Other days, it’s deeply human.
And often, it’s both at the same time.
But when someone finally finds clarity in their message, confidence in their voice, and consistency in how they show up; that’s the part that makes it worth it.
Building in this space has taught me that personal branding isn’t about being louder.
It’s about being clearer.
And clarity, as it turns out, is hard work.

We also explore the importance of authentic storytelling, consistency in social media, balancing multiple talents, and creating valuable content that resonates with audiences. I highlight how these elements, when applied thoughtfully, can transform both personal and organizational brands.

The other week, I talked about why even established leaders need a personal brand.
This week, let me take it a step further.
Every day, I meet brilliant professionals doing exceptional work; but whose digital presence does not reflect the depth, clarity, or impact of their expertise.
The result? Missed opportunities, diluted influence, and stories told by everyone except the owner.
After my last post, many of you reached out.
Some asked for clarity, some shared their struggles, others said, “Lyn, I know I need this; I just don’t know where to start.”
Let me be honest: Most professionals are not struggling with competence.
They’re struggling with communication.
They’re good — but silent.
Visible — but not understood.
Known — but not strategically positioned.
And that gap is costly.
This masterclass exists to close that gap.
If you’ve ever felt that your work speaks louder than your platforms, or that people call you “good” but don’t know why; this is your space.
Your image is not PR.
Your voice is not vanity.
Your presence is not performance.
It is leadership. Self leadership!
And it’s time to steward it with intention.

Happening now in Accra, Ghana!
It has always been a dream of mine to stand on an International Public Relations Association stage; and to see that dream unfold in record time has been nothing short of surreal.
Standing on a global PR platform in Accra, Ghana, surrounded by some of the brightest minds in public relations from around the world, I feel deeply humbled and inspired.
The 2025 Knowledge-Sharing Conference marks a historic moment, uniting the International Public Relations Association (@ipraofficial ), the Africa Public Relations Association, organized by the Institute of Public Relations Ghana under one roof.
As I reflect on this milestone, I’m reminded of how far our profession has evolved; and how the power of knowledge-sharing, the power of internet and AI, continues to shape the future of strategic communication.
I can’t wait to bring these global insights on innovative communication back home to Uganda & East Africa through avenues like Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) where I serve as the Deputy Secretary General, and contribute to the growth of our PR and strategic communications industry .
Ps- The president of the Republic of Ghana is the Guest of Honor and I also had the privilege to interact with the State Minister in charge of ICT ; Godfrey Kabbyanga who shared on Uganda’s communication landscape, and future plans.
