Congressman Casar is correct.
I’ve conducted more Latino polling & focus groups of the fastest growing part of the working class this year than ever before and the findings are striking.
Despite all the celebrating here, Latinos feel abandoned by the Democratic Party & have no confidence that anything will result in improving the economy - their priority issue.
Cut the parade short and get to work if you want to keep them.
I respect Sen. Schatz, but I 100% disagree with him here.
Even if we win the midterms, Democrats have far to go to win back the trust of working people. If Democrats don't understand that, we will sleepwalk into President Vance 2028.
No one in America thinks the status quo is working.
Voters want fighters for higher paychecks and lower prices. Next year, Democrats must pass bills powerful enough to actually tackle the cost of living crisis and root out rampant corruption. We cannot be the party of nervous lawyers who just tinker around the edges.
For more than a decade, Democrats have been known primarily as the anti-Trump Party. If we take back Congress, we have to show we're more than anti-Trump. That starts with cracking down on corporate greed to bring down the cost of health care, housing, child care, groceries, and gas. And it means doing oversight of both the Trump Administration and big corporations ripping people off.
If Donald Trump chooses to veto our popular, pro-affordability policies, the fight is far from over. We'll run on them in 2028 and pass them in 2029.
Prediction markets are extremely easy to manipulate and use to manufacture public perception, particularly with outside betting.
Serious analysts would be wise to revisit Hayek’s famous “knowledge problem” before mistaking such markets for reliable measures of localized political sentiment.

Sometimes I miss the principled commentary and conservative rigor of late Republicans like Charles Krauthammer, whom I always respected as an op-ed writer.
The cultural degradation of our institutions under Trump is impossible to overstate.
Professional decorum and policy arguments have been replaced by a culture of crudeness and contempt that treats public service as a cheap playground rather than a public trust.
Yes, politics has always been a combat sport. I know. I have worked in media and politics for 20 years.
But there still used to be a degree of dignity and civility. That no longer exists. Complex discussions are now reduced to the petulant theatrics of an adolescent locker room in exchange for fleeting vanity likes.
The fact that the Republican Party has lowered the bar this far, and that so many now defend it, is every bit as disturbing as the damage itself.
What does conservatism even stand for anymore?
I rarely hear substantive arguments grounded in a coherent political philosophy. Instead, all I hear is a lot of anger, grievance, and identity politics dressed up as conviction.
As much as I LOVE to tout the fact that I have accurately called every midterm and presidential election over the last 10 years with 90%+ accuracy, I highly recommend against relying on my quips to make life changing investment decisions. 🤣

If you're a young man with his head screwed on who doesn't have a victim mentality, the world is yours.
A lot of your 'competition' is pathetic, to put it bluntly.

Evil detests beauty because beauty is proof of a transcendental order, of objective Goodness and Truth.
To attack beauty is to wage war against the possibility of transcendence.
Beauty is a great affront to nihilism. It testifies to that which is greater than the individual, because to create a beautiful thing is to acknowledge that you are answerable to standards higher than your own. Beauty is often called a great evangelist for this reason.
This is why they outright destroy beauty or try to subvert your perception of it by promoting ugliness or triviality. Beauty is neither neutral nor trivial — your ability to discern the beautiful from the ugly is intimately connected to your capacity to recognize the divine.
Dietrich von Hildebrand once declared that "beauty is the archenemy of mediocrity." Why?
Beauty elevates a person toward truth, goodness, and the divine. The antitheses to beauty drag the soul down into nihilism and worship of the self.

Left/right partisans often lament Latino voter volatility. But if anything, Latinos have emerged as the nation's most optimistic and rational political electorate. This stubborn indie streak is far healthier than just voting party line every election. Make politicians work.
Replying to @madrid_mike
Latinos are the most likely voters to register as an independent.
Latinos have the least partisan anchors.
Latinos are rejecting BOTH parties.
Partisans claim victory & realignment until they lose them in the next election.
