I used to open X every morning because you could actually find good investing stuff. Someone would give an objective take on financials or just talk through how they were thinking about a business. You could learn a lot from people no matter their experience or credentials. Now I open it and it just feels exhausting. I scroll for like two minutes and close it. It honestly feels like everyone falls into two buckets now. The first bucket is the course guys. They're usually pretty young, they've never actually worked in investing, they don't have any real track record beyond the last year or so when everything went up. But they're selling a course or a Discord or a paid community. And the whole timeline is just content to sell that thing. Ten threads about mindset, a screenshot of some gains, then a link to buy. It doesn't feel like they actually want to teach investing. It feels like the course is the business. To be clear, I have no problem with people selling courses, but at least be honest about what you are and aren't. I'm a CPA. If I gave someone the wrong advice, I could lose my license. The second bucket is the guys who are way too deep into one idea. They bought something, probably way too much of it, and now everything they post is just trying to prove they are right. Any bad news gets explained away. Any chart gets drawn to support the story they already believe. They are not really testing their thesis, they are just looking for stuff that agrees with them. And when you put a lot of money behind that kind of thinking, it's not really investing anymore. It's just gambling but you spent more time making a thread about it. I think what bothers me is that actual investing is quiet and kind of boring. It's reading stuff no one wants to read, trying to actually understand a business, being okay with not knowing everything, and waiting a lot. That doesn't do well on here. What does well is acting super confident and posting all day. I don't really argue with it anymore. I just muted a lot of accounts and now I look for the quiet ones. The people who don't post that much, don't have anything to sell, will actually say when they got something wrong, and are selfaware. There are still a few of them, you just have to dig to find them.

As psychedelic treatments approach potential FDA approval, psychiatrists need to be ready for patients’ questions. To help prepare them, Johns Hopkins, Yale, NYU, and Columbia developed a standardized psychedelic medicine curriculum for psychiatry trainees. The first multi-site evaluation of the course was just published in Academic Psychiatry. After the course: 💡 Confidence counseling patients about clinical research and legal care nearly doubled 🔬 Understanding of the limitations of current evidence rose sharply 📈 Knowledge quiz scores improved ⚖️ Trainees gained a more balanced, critically informed view of the evidence, without inflated enthusiasm for the field We’re continuing to develop educational and training programs for professionals across a range of fields, so stay tuned! doi.org/10.1007/s40596-026-0…

I'm a simple man: 70% to 80% of rare disease are genetic, that's the lions share right there. In the original 2019 $PRME editing paper the authors calculated that prime editing can, in principle, correct up to ~89% of the ~75,000 known pathogenic human genetic variants in ClinVar. (Haven't found a clean number for base editing but probably around 30% to 60%)... Ofc delivery is an unsolved problem and I'm not saying that they can cure any single one of them. What I'm saying is that $BEAM & $PRME are the only ones who have a ball to shoot! Only thing that limits them is cash.
This is a meaningful step to bring better coordination around FDA initiatives to make the process for developing treatments for rare diseases more efficient. Will help accelerate new policy development. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The FDA approved 45 novel drugs in the first nine months of 2026, versus 32 over the same stretch in 2025 (about 41% more). Those approvals expand options for diagnosis and treatment, including for people living with serious and rare diseases. I expect this number to keep going up.

Still incredible that the DeepMind documentary has footage of exact moment Demis is told that AlphaFold can “easily” predict all known (1-2B) protein sequences “in a month” and he says to do it. Then, it shows the moment AlphaFold is released to the world.

Previously, 85% of proteins associated with human disease were deemed intractable – their shapes and function made them less suitable for traditional chemical screening in the lab. Moving from experimental screening to AI generative design on a computer, we have seen these targets drastically open up the potential to design molecules with atomic precision, fundamentally expanding the number of diseases we can treat.

First announced patient dosing of an in vivo prime editing treatment (to correct ATP7B H1069Q, one of the most common genetic causes of Wilson disease). There are now at least three prime editing clinical trials underway—for CGD (ex vivo, with positive clinical outcomes), for Wilson disease (in vivo), and for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD, in vivo).

$TWST $GOOGL Google DeepMind/Isomorphic Labs announced SynthID Bio, a watermarking framework designed to embed verifiable digital signatures into AI-generated protein sequences and biomolecular structures. The synthetic gene fragments encoding the designed protein binders for in vitro validation were codon-optimized and purchased from @TwistBioscience. @adaptyvbio is credited for contributing in vitro validation. James Diggans, Twist's VP of Policy & Biosecurity, served as an expert industry peer-reviewer and provided early feedback on the research from a biosecurity perspective. Standard biosecurity screening algorithms compare incoming DNA orders against databases of known pathogens and toxins based on sequence identity. However, generative AI models can invent completely novel protein sequences that share little to no sequence resemblance to known wild-type organisms, creating screening ambiguities that traditionally require time-consuming manual reviews. SynthID Bio provides Twist and other manufacturers' biosecurity screening pipelines with an automated "trusted origin" verification signal and serves as a critical component in a layered biosecurity model: • Proof of Safe Origin: An intact watermark proves that an unfamiliar or highly novel sequence originated from an AI design model equipped with built-in safety guardrails. • Operational Efficiency: Recognizing a verified watermark allows suppiers to fast-track compliant customer orders, avoid unnecessary screening delays, and potentially pass some cost savings on to customers. • Model-Level Mitigations: AI developers embed safety filters and watermarks at the software generation stage. • Physical Synthesis Gatekeeping: DNA manufacturers like Twist screen orders and verify customer credentials before printing physical DNA. • Traceability & Database Integrity: Watermarks ensure sequence provenance is preserved even if digital metadata is stripped or falsified, protecting public repositories (like GenBank, UniProt, and the Protein Data Bank) from mislabeled synthetic entries. SynthID Bio enables biopharma researchers to scale AI-driven protein discovery while giving synthesis providers like Twist the automated tools needed to maintain biosecurity compliance without stalling commercial turnaround times.

Portland, OR Council Makes Non-Commercial Use of Natural Psychedelics Lowest Law Enforcement Priority Today, the City of Portland voted unanimously to amend its City Code to specify that personal, non-commercial use of "certain naturally occurring plant- and fungus-based psychedelic substances" be deemed as a "low law enforcement priority". It does so by adding a chapter, Psychedelic Health and Safety, to that Code.

$ABCL Still reeling from AbCellera's phase 2 data and looking forward to next steps for ABCL635. We have a few more milestones coming: 1) Unblinding of the Phase 1 MAD Cohort (Expected late 2026) Small sample size, but I'll be looking for the release of phase 1 redosing data. The Ph 1 trial included a parallel Multiple Ascending Dose (MAD) segment where 16 postmenopausal women received consecutive monthly injections of either 300 or 600mg for 3 months. This data has been kept strictly blinded while patients complete a mandatory 20-week safety follow-up. Management explicitly noted they would not unblind this data until after the Phase 2 top-line readout occurred. 2) 12-Week Follow-up Data (Expected Q4 2026) This data isn't about proving initial efficacy (the primary 4-week endpoint already established that). Because Phase 2 participants only got a single 600mg dose, observing them for an additional eight weeks allows researchers to track exactly how therapeutic relief changes as the drug naturally clears their system. This generates a real-world dose-response curve and builds a robust PK/PD model. I'll be looking for a few things in the 12-week data: • The Rate of Diminishing Efficacy: How quickly do hot flashes return as the antibody washes out? Management fully expects the effect to diminish by week 12, and tracking this decline will pinpoint the exact threshold of drug concentration required to keep the brain's thermostat calm. • Optimal Phase 3 Dose Selection: I'll be looking for confirmation of the 600mg loading dose followed by a 300mg steady-state monthly maintenance dose strategy previously mentioned by management. • Extended Dosing Potential: If the data shows patients maintain strong relief well beyond the four-week mark despite falling drug levels in the blood, it could prompt AbCellera to consider an even more convenient dosing regimen like every 6 or 8 weeks. 3) Open-Label Extension (OLE) Data (Expected Q1 2027) Following the 12-week monitoring period, all Phase 2 participants (including those who were previously in the placebo group) have the option to enter the OLE and receive a 600 mg dose. The OLE is designed to provide long-term safety, tolerability, and durability data while allowing trial participants continued access. Beyond these 3 milestones, I'll also be looking for meetings with the FDA and early details on Phase 3 trial design, as well as the expansion into oncology-related VMS. Exciting times, long and strong.

Anthropic is sowing the seeds for AI/Biotech to be the hype narrative into their IPO imo. $ARKG $NTRA, $TEM xitter.cf/AndrewCurran_/status/2…
Anthropic has set up a wet lab in San Francisco, their bio research has advanced beyond in silico. They are now conducting physical research both in-house and with external partners. The NYT also broke the news this morning that Anth now plans to scale its compute to 5 GW by the end of the year, and 10 GW within the next 16 months. Bio is next after math, and I think we are going to see some medical announcements much sooner than people are expecting.
