I reject nothing true nor holy within Christianity. Indeed, I rejoice at the seeds of the Word contained therein.
I don’t know what specifically I believe. I am certainly influenced by Christianity and always will be. The elephant in the room is that this might be seen as motivated by “being trans” and wanting a way out. But this isn’t the case bc I didn’t think of it as a problem.
This isn't even to mention the fact that this decree and Lumen Gentium cannot be rectified with Unam Sanctam or Cantate Domino or even papal decrees condemning religious indifferentism from 40 years prior.
The fact that the hierarchy thinks it can bind people to stuff that was yesterday's hersey and that people have mostly gone along with it proves that religion is a human construct. And I enjoy Vatican II!
4th: Evolution means that God not only cannot prevent suffering, but His Will requires it. Rather than creation existing in an orderly state and becoming disordered, death and disease were always God's Will. This supports a morally indifferent Cosmic Principle.
Lastly on the contradictions between Vatican II and prior teaching this should be easy to intuit if you've been on Catholic twitter. Vatican II is held up as authoritative and yet it is manifestly heretical.
Note that this isn't "God ALLOWS evil to bring out good" but "God NEEDS evil to bring out good". Evolution being true pretty much forces us to just conclude that God is good only ontologically (quoad se), and not according to us (quoad nos).
Also, this would undermine basic Christian anthropology which says that Eve came from Adam. If evolution is true then Adam and Eve were probably just mates from a similar tribe and were probably not intelligent enough to know what they were doing by whatever sin they committed.
1st: Evolution makes the fall meaningless, and thus the redemption of Christ meaningless. Since death did not actually *enter* the world through Adam and Eve's sin (Rom 5:12) in any way, the Christian message of Christ's sacrifice 'atoning' for this Sin becomes simply a metaphor.
Another impossible contradiction is the contradiction between Matthew and Luke's geneologies, which both reference David. Matthew traces 27 and Luke traces 42 generations from Jesus to David. This represents a nearly 450 year difference, which makes no sense.
Deus Sive Natura is probably too complicated to get into here. But basically, I have no real way to get around this mentally and avoid the condemnation of Dei Filius Canon 1.3. God's Will is infinite and so Nature is coterminous with it, and everything is an Idea of God.
I am making this post to announce that I can no longer consider myself Christian for many reasons. They are as follows. I cannot bring myself to believe:
