The #StateOfNature report is clear: our wildlife is in trouble. Moths are in decline. They need help, right now. We don't have time to waste. We can all play a part: in our gardens, on our farms, in our developments. We have to do better stateofnature.org.uk @savebutterflies

There's a lot of late moths around. Yesterday I caught a fresh Flame Shoulder. Never even had an October one before. Here it is, on the left, with a Radford's Flame Shoulder (25 Oct) for comparison. Both Driffield, East Yorkshire. @DoubleKidney @BC_Yorkshire @BritishMoths

A few #moths from the cliff trap in #Guernsey last night, things I don't see so much at home.
Star moths were 4 x Brindled Ochre, 12 x Feathered Brindle, Mallow, 6 Scarce Bordered Straw and 27 Radford's Flame Shoulder. The only micro was Rusty Dot which is a shame.
