It's all anyone can talk about this morning: what will Ben Cherington do before the lockout begins on December 2? buccoball.wordpress.com/2026…
Only change I’d make is thicker piping on the neck/sleeves of the gold jersey for more of a throwback look. Otherwise perfect
This seemed like too little for Lowe, but that is a $23M AAV and FanGraphs predicts him to get even less in their preview (Clemens has him at 2 years/$38 mil). I think he’ll beat those numbers, if only because it’s a weak market for FA hitters
Ben Cherington is facing his most important offseason yet, and there are less than 30 days remaining. I wrote about what needs to happen in the next month, and what will happen if the Bucs aren't busy in November: buccoball.wordpress.com/2026…

The Pirates have claimed OF Akil Baddoo off waivers from the Brewers.
Baddoo, 28, was a Rule 5 surprise in 2021 for the Tigers but didn’t produce much for them after that. He had 11 home runs and an .811 OPS in 64 games in Triple-A last season.

The Pirates have extended a qualifying offer to Brandon Lowe. The rate this year is one year, $23.15 million.
Lowe has until Nov. 17 to accept or deny. If he denies and signs elsewhere, the Pirates will get a draft pick. The Pirates and Lowe can still negotiate other contracts.
If the Pirates are going to be a contender in 2027, they'll need to do a lot of work before December 2. My column on the Bucs' abbreviated offseason: buccoball.wordpress.com/2026…
If Aikman leaves, ESPN knows the exact person to replace him in the MNF booth… but you might have to pour him a double shot of whiskey…
From @TheAthletic: The relationship between Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, longtime NFL TV partners, is ruptured. How did it get to this point? No one had reported the exact details until today; it is clear ESPN has taken Buck’s side in the pending divorce. nyti.ms/4zaqx1n
Liberty Biberty is currently in critical condition at Tampa General after he was badly beaten in an altercation late last night in the parking lot outside Mons Venus
As the postseason comes to a close, I wrote about how, for fans, believing your team can win a championship is almost as important as actually winning buccoball.wordpress.com/2026…
A championship should be the goal every year for the players and the front office. But for fans, all they can ask for from their team is something else buccoball.wordpress.com/2026…
The irony of a candidate claiming she’s against data centers running a completely AI-generated ad every commercial break
Watching Game 6 of the ALCS last week brought back bad memories of Game 5 of the 2013 NLDS — the games were eerily similar — but it also made me reflect on what counts as a good season, for the Bucs or any other team buccoball.wordpress.com/2026…
