PUBLIC INTERVENTION SAVES LIVES OF LUBIRI HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
We commend members of the public around Cornerstone Plaza, Rubaga, whose quick intervention helped save the lives of 73 Lubiri High School students travelling aboard bus UAQ 079W, belonging to Jeju Express Bus Company for a study tour at UMA–Lugogo.
The bus reportedly lost control prompting the conductor to alert the public and together with members of the community they managed to bring it to a stop by throwing stones under it. Fortunately, no injuries were registered.
Police responded immediately and found that the bus was carrying 73 students instead of 67, had an expired PSV licence, no @Educ_SportsUg clearance, no 3rd party insurance and had not been inspected by the @MoWT_Uganda
The driver, conductor & patron have been detained to assist with investigations, while police are get a statement from the head teacher.
We strongly caution all schools to comply with all requirements for school trips and student transportation, regardless of whether the journey is short or long.
The safety of our children must always come before convenience.

While I was judging, I kept watching how he worked.
The focus. The patience. The love in every shot.
And I found myself wondering, so I turn to my neighbor and ask, who is this guy?
Then it hit me.
I’m young, ambitious, and still growing. But seeing someone like him still showing up, still creating, still doing it with so much love at an hour when most would rest truly inspired me.
Passion doesn’t retire or age. This is what dedication looks like.

President Museveni sent a delegation led by the Vice President, H. E Jesca Alupo (whom we named "Namakula"), together with a number of ministers, to Bulange, today.
The Kingdom of Buganda is ready to collaborate with the Central Government in areas of health; education; agriculture; financial literacy; and environmental protection.
I told VP Alupo that it's crucial to fight corruption, which hinders transformation. The fight should start with the big shots occupying high offices. The rampant inefficiency in service delivery is due to corruption, which lets incompetent persons into high offices.
I emphasised that public transportation should be improved as a national priority. An efficient transport system reduces the cost of doing business, thus stimulating growth and development. We should aspire to travel from Mityana to Kampala by train in 20 minutes, which would enhance productivity.
