Nteziyaremiye Africano and his wife, Kyompire Peace, who operated a wholesale shop in Kisoro town, were returning home with their shop attendant when an armed assailant attacked them at their gate. It is alleged Africano attempted to reverse their pickup, but the narrow road prevented him from turning. The couple then abandoned the vehicle and tried to flee on foot, but the assailant shot both dead. The attacker reportedly demanded money from the shop attendant and searched the victims before fleeing. Investigations are ongoing, with robbery being considered as a possible motive.

"Command courses such as this are fundamental to strengthening command and leadership within the Uganda Police Force, while enhancing service delivery at all levels. They equip officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to align policing strategies with the evolving security needs and expectations of the communities we serve. Police officers are entrusted with the responsibility of keeping communities safe, among other critical duties. To execute these responsibilities effectively, continuous professional training is essential. It enables officers to remain abreast of evolving laws, policies, operational practices, and societal dynamics, while strengthening their leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities" @KamuntuProf-during the pass-out ceremony for officers who completed the Intermediate Command Course at the Police Senior Command and Staff College, Bwebajja, on Thursday 15th October
