Brilliant to catch up with the best captain I ever played under at @lancscricket - David Yozzer Hughes - the big lad on the other side wasn't bad either

I explain the issues behind the SGM adjournment in this article.
The Board needs to stop trying to silence its members & address their concerns instead.
Given the retrograde step today of putting the men's team behind a paywall then I fear this Board isn't willing to engage

My hat's in the ring & voting has started. Enough of you were kind enough in 2020 to vote me on to Surrey CCC's General Committee. I worked hard to represent your views, particularly to protect the County Championship's future. Work still needs doing, please support me 🤎 – at Lewisham, London

It is misleading how Thompson segues from creaking bodies at the end of the India Tests into the shrinking of the Blast and possibly the CC
England Test players hardly play in the CC or Blast and the ECB have the power to rest them from matches in those competitions anyway!

Is it better to play in the first or second semi at finals day?
Well, of the 22 Blast finals so far, 14 were won by the side that won the second semi-final (63%)
Also, the last 6 were won by the winner of the second semi-final

Taunton. Sold out 6500. Family day. Lots of activities
York CC. Sold out 4500. Huge temporary stand behind the arm.
Liverpool. Sold out. No temporary stand. 2000- 2500 capacity, bring a chair.
County cricket is treated as a chore not a core activity.
It's time for a change.

Lots of marketing people are starting to notice that THE YOUTH are really getting into books and classical music.
Turns out it's not all about fireworks and short attention spans, but stuff that's slow-paced and high quality.

Lancashire are only offering their members the opportunity to rank three options for the county championship, all involving a reduction to 12 games. Members have no option to reject that change.
It is not a meaningful vote.
