UPDATE: Judge Carter ends his hearing with a warning to DOJ:
"This court believes it would be wise that any threats to state and county elected employees cease immediately. Good night."
He will issue a formal ruling tomorrow but appears to be rejecting DOJ's emergency efforts.

Wow. Another big-name moderate Republican from *Amarillo* who was a state senator until 2023 - in Talarico's camp.

I'm disturbed to learn of Brent Taylor’s pattern of sending unsolicited nude photos to multiple women.
The fact that he would dismiss his behavior as “youthful indiscretions" despite it happening recently, in his fifties, & while he held government office is ridiculous.

Given how much Paxton/Rs have tried to imply things about Talarico’s personal life, it’s a tough posture to now say Paxton’s personal life is off limits. Good NYT story here about the woman influencer behind the Paxton scenes.

There was a no bill today in federal court, and Tuesday is the day that a federal grand jury has heard testimony in the Cassidy Hutchinson probe.
WaPo is confirming it was indeed a failed attempt to indict Cassidy Hutchinson:

Over the final week, there is slated to be more spent on the South Carolina Senate race than on Alaska and New Hampshire.
There's also slated to be more spent on Kansas than on Texas and Maine.

Word for word, this is what Democrats were saying in lead up to 2024.
Then E-Day surge never happened.
Gov. Kemp on sluggish GOP turnout:
“Look, we’re behind in early voting. We all know that, but we’ve got a chance the rest of the week because their numbers are starting to play out. They really pushed hard and they're motivated and you’ve got to just tip your cap to them. But we can close the gap between now and Friday, and we're going to win on Election Day.” #gapol

Initial results from Israel show clearly that the opposition bloc is a few seats ahead of Netayanu's.
The two Arab-majority lists will get 17 or 18 seats together and hold balance of power.
Israeli liberals now face a clear choice: work with Arabs if you want to oust Bibi.

JD Vance having to ride in to try and rescue Constantino in NY-21. NY-21 is a Trump +20(!) seat but has potentially the worst Republican recruit in the country running there (potentially even worse than Victor Marx in Colorado)
Have heard from multiple unrelated people that it’s VP JD Vance. #NY21
The last VP to visit the north country was Mike Pence in 2021, coming to say thanks to the 10th Mountain Division. Pence was then already on the outs with the admin because of Jan 6.

This is why parliamentary systems suck. Our two party system has its flaws, but at least you don’t end up with the need for reruns.
