This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Environment Canada has expanded the area for the Tornado Warning.
This alert is in effect for Clearwater County, in the area of Rocky Mountain House, Rimbey, and Eckville (see attached map).
Tornado Warnings are more severe than watches. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado.
Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches.
If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.
If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, otherwise, wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head.

An update from @JasperNP:
It’s bad. Lots of stuff on fire but they can’t/won’t say how much has been lost. Would not address JPL rumours. Just saw a ton of wildland firefighters leaving, a bunch of city-style fire trucks entering. They’re fighting til the end.

Good morning #yyc. Due to the bad weather, travel conditions are abysmal. Regardless of how good a driver you are or how well your vehicle handles slippery roads, you need to turn your lights on, leave extra space between vehicles and slow down. Let’s work together to stay safe.
