โ€œRaising the income tax thresholdโ€ means the government loses billions that could be spent on already stretched public services. The shortfall would mean taxes raised elsewhere - not to mention raising any income tax threshold benefits the higher earners more too. Raising the minimum wage is fair for low earners.
