Diagnostic Accuracy of NT-proBNP thresholds in Dyspneic Patients in the Emergency Department according to patients’ characteristics: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
A threshold ≤300 ng/L provides excellent rule-out performance for AHF, while age-dependent NT-proBNP thresholds offer superior diagnostic performance for ruling in AHF in the ED compared to fixed thresholds, and demonstrate consistent accuracy across subgroups.

Among patients with #AtrioventricularBlock, preserved left ventricular ejection fraction, and anticipated high ventricular pacing burden, left bundle-branch area pacing reduced the 24-month composite of all-cause death, heart failure events, or upgrade to biventricular pacing vs right ventricular pacing.
Device-related complications were similar between groups, supporting clinical consideration of left bundle-branch area pacing for patients expected to require frequent ventricular pacing.

Papillary fibroelastoma is a rare primary cardiac tumour with benign histology. Despite its benign nature, it can lead to serious complications, including thromboembolism, stroke, myocardial infarction, and dynamic coronary obstruction.
This review at #EHJ-IMP highlights how multimodality imaging supports diagnosis and clinical management:
🔹 Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) serves as an important initial imaging test.
🔹 Transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE) provides improved spatial and temporal resolution, helping define tumour mobility, attachment, stalk morphology, and relationships with nearby structures.
🔹 Cardiac CT offers detailed anatomical information and helps assess the tumour’s relationship with the cardiac valves, coronary arteries, and surrounding anatomy.
🔹 Cardiac MRI contributes to tissue characterisation and may help differentiate papillary fibroelastoma from other cardiac masses.
