Fascinating anecdote about the power of the carnivore diet:
I talked to a 30 year old guy today who, despite eating “healthy” organic food and working out regularly for years and staying thin, has been suffered from a slew of health problems: IBS, depression, back pain, frozen shoulder, acne, lack of sense of smell for years, and more recently uveitis. Despite seeing specialists and having extensive testing, he could not find relief. Out of desperation and after doing hours of research, he jumped on the carnivore diet. Within 10 days, his depression symptoms lifted, his IBS was gone, his uveitis healed, he could smell for the first time in years, his acne is clearing up, his back pain improved and his frozen shoulder suddenly started having more range of motion. He’s never felt this good in his life.
Now imagine telling this guy that his new diet is unhealthy or dangerous. That’s what patients who improve their health with unconventional approaches are facing from conventional doctors, constant fear mongering and dismissal.

What happens of you ban meat and all crops are grown grown for human consumption, including the replacement of livestock? Then 100% of agricultural animal deaths come from there. That's not the win you'd expect right?

I've had 2 vegetarians call me this week, wanting to discuss meat production.
They all need to introduce meat protein into their diet (their words) but are struggling to reconcile production - namely slaughter - with their values.
Both wanted to discuss slaughter methods. The final day of an animal is a very emotionally charged subject, and rightly so. These animals of ours don't deserve cruel treatment, especially on their final day.
I gently pushed back. Not to diminish the reality of these animals final day or to diminish the weight of it, but to put it in perspective.
"I understand the attention you're giving to the final day of these animals lives, and the potential for very different outcomes. But the typical beef animal going to slaughter will live 550 days. What about directing our focus and action to the 449 days?"
449 days of species appropriate grazing, socialisation, environmental stewardship and natural expression.
The final day is important, but it doesn't weigh more than the 449 days before it.

Lab meat maker Upside Foods received investment of $598 million from geniuses who really understand food and the consumer - like Bill Gates and Richard Branson!
10 years later it has only managed to sell a tiny quantity of its chicken-like substance in two restaurants. One of which has stopped selling it.
It will become a case study of the hubris of tech bros and finance bros, who ignored the many food industry experts who already knew that the tech and consumer challenges were too big.

I used to be vegan.
I thought meat, dairy, and animal products in general, were bad.
Over time, I realized I had never even consumed high quality animal products.
I’m now the healthiest I’ve ever been.
