When it comes to athletes, multiple things can be true at the same time:
-Athletes are bigger, faster, and stronger than ever
-Athletes are also less healthy than ever
-There’s more technology, software, and tracking on athletes than ever
-Athletes are also carrying more cumulative stress than ever
-Injuries keep climbing (more so than ever before)
-Daily health habits keep slipping
And most athletes, coaches, and staff still can’t answer three basic questions:
-What are your genetic predispositions?
-What are your actual health numbers right now?
-What is all that stress adding up to?
-Are you handling/adapting to these cumulative stressors/stimuli or are you getting buried?
Performance and health are not the same thing
We’ve gotten really good at measuring one and really bad at protecting the other

No athlete has ever improved a skill by being punished with running.
Skills improve through intentional, task-specific training. Punishing an entire team with running only creates a negative association with it while doing nothing to correct the actual issue.
