sniping indie dev to clones, for me is truly a diabolical.
Valve says a “significant number” of employees are working on Steam’s growing visibility problem as the platform becomes increasingly crowded with new releases.
The company also says it won’t gatekeep games made with AI.
“We don’t want to be gatekeepers telling developers which tools they should or shouldn’t use.”
Valve wants to improve Steam’s discovery systems so good games can still stand out in an increasingly crowded store.

I think It's like a "I like this game" button for players while in searching for new game.

Its very sad to see something like this happens to indie game dev that put their heart and time to the game, and then someone try to snipe indie game by scoop and replicate with ai slops.
not only it will be oversupply but i think it can make indie dev burnout more easily. 😞
The developers behind a Needle In A Haystack clone are complaining that their game has now been cloned by someone else using AI.
They say the new game is essentially a “byte-for-byte identical” copy of their version, including its code and other elements.
The funny part is that their own game was already a clone of the original Needle In A Haystack concept.
Now the developers are arguing that there’s a big difference between being inspired by a game and directly copying someone else’s work.
