A well-drafted article by Angshuman Choudhury. People whimpering about "a brawl between two ethnic groups" should read this.

60,000 Troops in Manipur, Yet Kuki Civilians Remain Unsafe: Government’s Security Claims Ring Hollow!
60,000 troops deployed, yet Kuki civilians continue to face killings, displacement and insecurity! Senior Advocate Vishwajit Singh has challenged the government’s claims before the Supreme Court, highlighting the glaring gap between military deployment and civilian protection.
What is the purpose of deploying thousands of troops if vulnerable communities remain exposed to violence?

Unemployed individuals affiliated with Meitei secessionist narco-terrorist mouthpieces — COCOMI, FOCS, Haomee Federation, AMUCO — and the private militia Arambai Tenggol, associated with Nongthombam Biren Singh @NBirenSingh and former Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba @MaharajaManipur, convened today in Imphal with an organisation identified as TIM, the existence of which is denied by Thadou Inpi GHQ.
It should be noted that institutions such as RIMS are administered by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and not by the Government of Manipur. All citizens are entitled to seek medical treatment there at any time, irrespective of location.
No certificate or authorisation from such individuals is required for access. Nevertheless, it is strongly advised that no Thibaikon Meitei Minai cross the fortified buffer zone at this time, pending finalisation of the demand for Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with Legislature.

We mourn (L) Nu Hatneikim Haokip, who succumbed to injuries following an ambush by NSCN-IM and Tangkhul militants from Burma. Her husband escaped, but two Kuki-Zo civilians remain missing. We urge the MHA to ensure justice and protect innocent lives. Rest in Peace🙏

Delhi Police’s conduct toward Neha Bora is extremely bizarre,
It almost seems as if this were a personal matter for them.
Look at the rough way they are taking her away,
Perhaps they have forgotten that once recorded, these visuals will remain forever.

“Modi downfall begins” and the “Three models of public resistance”:
The Modi led corporate regime's countdown has begun as internal fractures tear through the BJP ranks, with scared (& abandoning) bureaucrats signaling that his grip on power is rapidly collapsing under the weight of institutional erosion and vote chori.
Let’s try and break down the multi layered models, unique mobilization styles and strategic backing behind the wave of protests rocking the nation.
1. The Congress backed model structure & leadership:
Protests under this banner are institutionally/solely driven by the Congress leadership, the Indian Youth Congress, and the NSUI, frequently coordinated alongside INDIA bloc MPs and spearheaded by figures like Rahul Gandhi.
“Congress hi karegi isko”, keeping the core institutional framework tight and parliamentary focused.
Mobilisation Style: The calls to action are framed around party organization. Announcements state that party wings or opposition MPs "will protest" or "will join," rather than making a direct, standalone appeal to the general public to co-lead (or even join) the charge independently. No appeal / call by Rahul/Priyanka Gandhi directly to public for joining.
Media Ecosystem: Coverage is largely sustained through aligned networks, mainstream media tracking parliamentary opposition, and supportive digital handles reporting on formal political actions.
2. The AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) and Independent Coalition model structure & leadership:
More covert and decentralised in its approach, this Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) backed and funded model operates through allied political wings, public figures, and commentators such as Dhruv Rathee, Prakash Raj & Abhijit Dipke's Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)… creating a broad, informal forum for dissent.
Mobilization Style: Unlike the institutional framing of the Congress model, this approach directly echoes the sentiment that “aam aadmi aage aana chahiye and humko janta ka support chahiye”, urging everyday people, working families, and affected individuals to step forward and own the movement directly.
Media Ecosystem: Amplified by independent digital creators, sympathetic media platforms, AAP funded social media campaigns, this model achieves a high impact public voice that successfully drives broader online visibility.
3. The Farmer and Labor Union model structure & timing constraints:
Unlike political parties that can mobilize at will, farmer and labor unions face severe structural and environmental bottlenecks. Mass movements require months of careful planning, community funding via grassroots networks and alignment with agricultural cycles.
Seasonal Factors: Movements cannot launch during peak harvesting or sowing windows (such as the transition between Kharif and Rabi crops RIGHT NOW). Consequently, large scale rural mobilisation typically can align for effective deployment only after mid November.
Labor Regulations: Labor unions must navigate strict statutory notice periods under new labor laws to avoid sudden mass layoffs or legal retaliation, making their mobilisation a regulated, calculated process rather than a spontaneous street call.
My summary;
While each of the three protest streams operates under entirely different constraints, styles and strategic calendars, they collectively represent a multi pronged front against the current RSS / Corporate regime.
Congress led political party models provide immediate institutional visibility, the AAP backed digital and public coalition (including prominent voices like Dhruv Rathee, Prakash Raj, and Abhijit Dipke's CJP) excels at direct mass outreach to the common man and the (upcoming) labor farmer uprisings bring foundational, rural based weight to the resistance.
Modi led corporate regime is now limping & will complete this term severely wounded and scarred with multiple attacks from all angles.
(With Mukesh Ambani having shifted his allegiance, Gautam Adani should be a worried man too.)
Read “Deep rot,” today’s lead editorial in The Hindu: thehindu.com/opinion/editori…
Electoral fraud is not uncommon in electoral democracies. But the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) conducted by the Election Commission of India under the authoritarian and arrogant reign of Gyanesh Kumar belongs to a special species. It is now beyond dispute that the SIR done in several States, and worst of all in West Bengal, has inflicted a grievous and seemingly irreparable wound on India’s electoral democracy. The revelation that Chief Election Commissioner Kumar pushed through decisions related to the SIR without the knowledge, let alone consent, of the two other Election Commissioners shows arbitrariness and lawlessness of the worst kind. The Indian Express must be commended for its investigation, which has exposed how deep and how high the rot has gone into the electoral system. Unfortunately, when the scandal of the ongoing SIR was taken to the Supreme Court of India in the expectation that it would act to uphold the constitutional guarantee of universal adult franchise, the highest court in the land failed the big test. Gyanesh Kumar must resign. An impeachment motion to remove the CEC is unlikely to make headway, given the numbers in the Lok Sabha. If Gyanesh Kumar, with the backing of the Union government, decides to brazen it out, mass democratic protest will be the only way to force him out.
