GOOD DAY, MR PRESIDENT: NIGERIANS DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY Good day, Mr President. I congratulate you on spending a night in one of Nigeria’s states outside Lagos and Abuja. I hope you enjoyed the warmth, hospitality, and delicious cuisine of Akwa Ibom, which I am sure is even better than those of the destinations where you have spent over 260 days outside Nigeria since coming into office. I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the ₦15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target. Nigerians deserve to know how many that were pulled out of poverty within this period, how many out-of-school children were returned to school, and how many functional primary healthcare centres you have built. They also deserve to know how much electricity supply has improved, especially given your promise that if you do not fix power, Nigerians should not vote for you. They deserve an explanation of how you have secured the country, which still ranks among the most terrorised countries in the world. Mr President, Nigerians deserve answers. They deserve to know what has been done with the resources entrusted to your government. The New Nigeria we want to build will be based on accountability, transparency, and the physical, measurable impact of our public resources on the lives of citizens. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Replying to @PeterObi
Good day, Mr. Peter Obi. While accountability is essential in every democracy, it must be grounded in facts, fairness, and a proper understanding of the challenges facing our nation. Criticism is welcome, but selective outrage and politically convenient narratives do little to advance the national conversation. The removal of fuel subsidy, increased government revenue, and borrowing should not be discussed in isolation from the economic realities and reforms required to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth. The N15.8 trillion cited as subsidy savings, for instance, should not automatically be treated as money sitting in a government account waiting to be distributed. Similarly, borrowing is not inherently evidence of failure. What matters is whether borrowed funds are responsibly utilised, whether investments deliver measurable benefits, and whether the debt remains sustainable. On electricity, insecurity, education, healthcare, and poverty, nobody is suggesting that Nigeria’s problems have disappeared. These are longstanding national challenges that require sustained investment, institutional reforms, and collective responsibility. But it is equally unfair to suggest that meaningful progress should be dismissed simply because the work remains unfinished. Accountability must be a two-way street. Those demanding answers from the President should equally acknowledge the complexities of governing a country as diverse and challenging as Nigeria. The same standards of scrutiny should apply to state governments, local governments and every institution entrusted with public resources. Mr. President has a responsibility to communicate his administration’s achievements, challenges, and plans more effectively. However, Nigerians also deserve a national conversation that recognises progress where it exists, identifies failures honestly, and avoids reducing governance to political score-settling. Nigeria needs constructive criticism, not selective outrage. We need facts, not exaggerations; solutions, not sensationalism; and accountability that serves the national interest rather than partisan convenience. A New Nigeria is possible, but it must be built on honesty, fairness, collective responsibility, and an appreciation of the difficult reforms required to move our country forward. Bashir Ahmad, OON National Director, Media Monitoring & Rapid Response City Boy Movement.

I thought you inherited a lot of real estate from your parents Sir
When I first arrived in the United States as a young man, I drove a taxi to earn money for my education. I even had to postpone starting school for several months to save enough. When I eventually got to Chicago, I worked different jobs to support myself and pay my way through university. I know what it means to worry about tuition, accommodation and how to make ends meet while pursuing an education. Those experiences have stayed with me. I know what education made possible in my own life, and I believe every Nigerian child deserves that same opportunity, regardless of where they are born or what their parents can afford. This is one reason education remains a major priority of our Renewed Hope administration. Through NELFUND, we have provided over ₦372 billion in student loans for institutional fees and upkeep, helping young Nigerians remain in school and pursue their education. Our technical and vocational education programme has attracted over 2.8 million applications. We have rehabilitated 38 technical colleges, while students in federal and selected state technical colleges now benefit from free school fees, boarding, textbooks and uniforms. We have reached a new agreement with ASUU, providing for a 40% increase in academic staff remuneration and measures to improve stability in our universities. A four-year course must take four years. Our young people deserve to complete their education on time and get on with their lives. Promise made, Promise Kept In medical education, we are investing ₦110 billion in rehabilitating 24 medical schools. Annual nursing enrolment has increased from 28,000 to 115,000, while medical and dental enrolment has risen from 5,000 to 12,000. Nigeria needs more doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, and we must build the capacity to train them here at home. Over one million children who were previously out of school have been returned to learning. We are investing in teacher development, expanding educational opportunities for girls, and implementing a new national curriculum that restores Nigerian History to our classrooms. Our children must know where we have come from, understand the country they belong to, and be prepared to take responsibility for its future. I commend the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa @DrTunjiAlausa, the Minister of State, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad @Suwaiba_Said, and the entire education team @NigEducation for their dedication to this important work. I am particularly pleased that the team has developed an interactive A–Z of the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), bringing together the reforms, programmes, achievements and opportunities across our education system. I invite every Nigerian to visit edu4pbat.ng and explore the A–Z of NESRI. If you are a parent, find out what opportunities are available for your children. If you are a student, explore the programmes you can benefit from. If you are a teacher, see what support is available. And if something is not working as it should in your community, I want to hear about it. Your feedback will help us identify problems and address them. Our journey from reform to opportunities and shared prosperity must begin with education. The circumstances of a child’s birth should never determine the limits of their ambition. Our responsibility is to give every Nigerian child a fair chance to fulfil their potential. We have more work to do, and I am determined to see it through. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President

Have you ever seen the presidents of Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Oman or Saudi Arabia praying on camera and assuring their citizens that the Ka’aba will reduce inflation, build infrastructure and reduce hunger in their countries. Why is Tinubu always disrespecting and disgracing us?
STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO PROJECT NIGERIA, SEEKS WISDOM, RESILIENCE TO SERVE THE PEOPLE AS HE THANKS KING SALMAN FOR GRANTING HIM ACCESS TO KA'ABAH President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to Project Nigeria and his determination to build a prosperous nation, invest in the future of young Nigerians, and pursue development in line with the will of Almighty Allah and the people's aspirations. The President stated this on Monday while reflecting on his spiritual journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, during which the Custodian of the Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, granted him a rare privilege of leading Nigeria's delegation to pray inside the Holy Ka'abah. At the Ka'abah, President Tinubu offered prayers of gratitude to Almighty Allah for the privilege of serving as Nigeria’s President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Sheikh Dahlulah Muthawal of Masjid al-Haram led the President into the Ka'abah. President Tinubu thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for granting him and members of his Nigerian delegation the opportunity to enter the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah and offer prayers to Almighty Allah. The President described the honour as a historic and deeply cherished spiritual experience, reflecting the longstanding bonds of friendship, mutual respect and cooperation between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “I want to say a big thank you for the faith, for the recognition. I can't believe the fencing of the Ka’abah is in Green-White-Green, which reminds us of the Nigerian identity. "I thank the Crown Prince and all the administrators of the holy land. I thank them for the hospitality and recognition given to me as the leader of the delegation and the country. "We are all facing challenges and hostility around us. We will overcome them with faith in God Almighty. I'm grateful forever. I thank the King and the royal Crown Prince. “It is an honour that I enjoyed, and it is gracious of them to have allowed me to enter inside the Ka’abah. This is history,” the President said. President Tinubu said he asked Allah for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians, and expressed confidence that his prayers have been answered. “Well, I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that prayer has been granted. Before the 2023 election, I did the same thing. I asked Allah to bless my Umrah then, and He did. And I promised that I would come back to thank Him,” the President said. Reflecting on the message from the Holy Qur’an in Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26, which affirms that Almighty Allah is the Owner of all sovereignty, granting power and authority to whom He wills and taking them away from whom He wills, the President said power is a trust that must be exercised responsibly, with humility and in the service of the people, recognising that no position of authority is permanent and that ultimate sovereignty belongs to Almighty Allah. "There is no other God but Almighty Allah. He is the giver and the taker. He owns power and authority. He says, ' If I give you, use it well. If you don't use it in accordance with my dictates, I can take it from you and give it to another person. I am the only One who has that authority,” the President said, quoting the words of the Qur'an. President Tinubu said faith in Allah had strengthened his conviction that his emergence as Nigeria’s leader was an extraordinary blessing that must be matched with dedicated service to the country. “I have faith in that, and I believe extremely well that He has done me and my country a great favour. Out of many millions of people, to be the President and Commander-in-Chief is a favour that only Almighty God can do to a human being,” he stated. President Tinubu emphasised that his commitment to Project Nigeria had become even stronger, assuring Nigerians of his resolve to pursue policies and programmes that would promote prosperity, national development and shared progress. “My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country, consistent with the wish of Allah and the support of the people. "It is important to put Allah first, then move on. Follow your conscience. Follow the right path that will lead Nigeria to that greatness,” the President said. On the nation's economic outlook, President Tinubu expressed optimism about the progress made under his watch, describing the economic foundation as solid and the country's emergence from a difficult period as encouraging. “The foundation is solid, and the economy has come out of the dark tunnel. This is inspiring,” he said. He maintained, however, that nation-building requires sustained investment in young Nigerians' future, noting that today's leaders' decisions will determine how future generations remember them. “We need to build a future for our youth. If we don't invest in their future, how do we want to be remembered as leaders 50 years from now? That's the main thing. So this is a rare privilege to lead the country,” the President added. President Tinubu reiterated that his administration would remain focused on strengthening the country's economic foundations, expanding opportunities for young people and creating the conditions necessary for Nigerians to realise their potential. The President thanked Almighty Allah for the opportunity to lead Nigeria and reaffirmed his determination to justify the confidence the Nigerian people have placed in him through purposeful leadership and an enduring commitment to national progress. Apparently seized by emotions, Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi SAN, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ali Pate, Governors of Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara States as well as captains of industry, including Chairman of BUA Abdulsamad Isiaka Rabiu and CEO of Oando Wale Tinubu, expressed gratitude to Allah and the President for allowing them to enter and pray with him in the most holy mosque and sacred ground in Islam. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy) November 2, 2026.
