Ramblings about the charts for fun and profit. A "nasty piece of work". Who are all these people who go "No DMs"? I wish people messaged more, frankly.

It is news so glorious that Twitter is notifying me of it twice for double the joy.

Tinie Tommeh deserves all of the credit for engineering a situation where Daily Mail journalists are the good guys.

I have this theory that everything ends up on the internet eventually. Events this week showed this theory to be increasingly valid. Something genuinely unheard for over 40 years is now available for everyone to hear. 🧵

A couple of years early he'd released a pop record. Entirely self-made and self-produced. With minimal promotion it only sold a hundred or so copies locally. But he had a minor celebrity as a result. A copy ended up in circulation amongst the music teachers who got every class to listen and critique it. School reunion groups on Facebook reminisced about it but the record itself remained lost to history, save for its entry on Discogs. discogs.com/release/18234220…

I don't follow people I don't like, I don't watch stories of people I don't like and I don't interact with people I don't like. Y'all got this weird ass obsession with keeping up with mfs you don't like and I find that soo strange!

Manchester United brought so much pain and misery to my childhood. I could never imagine they would become such a potent source of joy and laughter in my adulthood.

Jamie Miller's Babydoll hits UK No.1 after eight straight weeks of climbing, and it's the first Welsh chart-topper in 15 years 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Plus Tate McRae at 2, Rodrigo & Chappell Roan at 3, Zach Bryan & Lana Del Rey at 7 and a flood of new arrivals. A properly refreshing chart. chart-watch.uk/week-ending-o…

It takes five to six hours to prep each week's #TOTP facts. If you'd like to bung me a tip, you can do so via this Ko-fi link: ko-fi.com/totpfacts (It’s set at £2 minimum because PayPal swipe the first 33p!) Thanks! #youcanmutethishashtag

We could have built the garden bridge with some of that money and no extra moaning about public funding
This is clearly insane. A charity set up to maintain London’s bridges is sitting on £1.5 BILLION, funding political campaigns and giving £1.1m to a group with links to a charity now under investigation over alleged Hamas connections. Meanwhile, Hammersmith Bridge is still closed and other Thames crossings are crumbling. What on earth are @cityoflondon doing? Via @Fhamiltontimes in @TheTimes thetimes.com/article/1932707…

I'm old enough to remember Ukraine before February 2022. Before the great PR makeover. Before billions in British public money started flowing. Before the swastikas were quietly airbrushed out of the picture and yesterday's neo-Nazi problem became today's inconvenient history. Back in January 2015, Ross Kemp travelled to Ukraine for his Extreme World documentary series, investigating the rise of the far right and the Azov Battalion, including its neo-Nazi elements and symbolism. This was British mainstream television, not Russian propaganda. Funny how quickly history gets rewritten when the geopolitical interests change and the public chequebook comes out. Of course, Ukraine's corruption, extremist movements and internal divisions didn't magically disappear in February 2022. But suddenly, mentioning what British journalists had openly reported for years was enough to get you branded a Kremlin sympathiser. Well, here's Ross Kemp reporting from Ukraine in 2015, long before the political rebranding. No Russian bots. No Kremlin script. Just the history they would rather you didn't remember.
