I spoke to Aggie content creator @jared_shult — who drove back to Aggieland from Austin to attend the event — about what he thought of @jamestalarico’s rally at Texas A&M’s Aggie Park:

Not to be too braggy, but 33 out of 34 quart jars of applesauce successfully canned feels pretty darn good!

Digger is a damn masterpiece. Go out to see it while you still can—the ending, updating Orwellian doublespeak for the surveillance capitalism age, turns the act of walking out of a theater into a gut punch.
And Oscar for Maggie, immediately.

The 16 year old shooter who killed 3 children and a teacher in Bend, Oregon was stopped by Kaylub Giamanco.
He was heading home on his lunch break when he heard gunshots.
His two daughters go to the school so instead of running away from the school, he ran towards it.
Very sad day. 😥
Bryan Cranston pays tribute to RJ Mitte
“I’m in deep despair as I write this tonight. RJ Mitte, my sweet son on 'Breaking Bad' has died. I met him when he was only 14 years old when he was cast as Walter White Jr., a part he played with such joy and enthusiasm. Born with Cerebral Palsy, he never – ever – allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything. He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination"
“Always listening to the advice that his TV parents (Anna Gunn and myself) gave him – but being a teenager, sometimes mischievously ignoring the counsel in order to learn the hard way… He was one of the stars of a hit TV show – but still a kid. That kid was pretty raw when we started shooting the pilot in February of 2007, but little by little we watched him grow into a really fine actor. He parlayed his experience on the show to be a vocal advocate for performers with disabilities, and was the head of a philanthropic organization with a focus on helping the disabled community. All that promise and potential now is such a loss"
“It is especially devastating to hear that he took his own life,” he wrote. “Why? We were texting each other just a few weeks ago – figuring out when we could meet for lunch. I don’t know if that lunch would have changed his future… But I do know that I loved him, and thoroughly enjoyed being with him throughout the years on the series, and after the spotlight on 'Breaking Bad' dimmed… I’ll miss you, son"

I talked with students around Cornell today. At one gathering, fraternity members processed why no members of a group chat intervened as the alleged assault unfolded. And students questioned how to change old social traditions, like "Champagne & Shackles" nytimes.com/2026/09/30/nyreg…

September 23, 1970, 56 years ago today, the Original 9 signed $1 contracts in Houston, Texas.
In doing so, women's professional tennis as we know it was born, and future generations of players were able to live out their dreams.
It's important to recognize the other individuals who helped make this happen. Thank you to @ChrissieEvert, who came on board in 1974, and to @Martina who joined next.
From the business side, we are indebted to Joe Cullman, Former Chairman and CEO of Philip Morris, Gladys Heldman, and all the tournament promoters who took a chance on us and created opportunities.
Today, professional tennis players represent 10 of the top 20 highest paid women athletes, according to Forbes 2025 ranking.
56 years later, the impact of the Original 9 is seen in the careers and dreams of today's players.
The legacy of the Original 9 lives on.

WEHOANS - during my 20 years on city council - we did some extraordinary issues on animal welfare. I was the co-author banning of puppy mills, outlawing declaw of cats, fur ban - and maybe the thing I am most happy about - the author of the creation of our dog parks. But selfishly - that was done so our girls DAKOTA and HARLEY had a place to play. I would ask for your vote to return me to council for one final four year term. The work in the area of protecting our furry family is not done yet. #weho #westhollywood #animalcompanion

Sorry about the Kennedy Center, Mr. President. But there’s still the Donald J. Trump Bestiality Waiver. My @washingtonsun column on the remaining naming opportunities for a self-obsessed president: washingtonsun.com/perspectiv…
Worth a look … and thoughts?
People keep saying Trump term II is the most corrupt administration ever, so I built a model to find out if it was true.
I took the UN's definition of corruption, turned it into eight criteria and 100 points, and scored the leaders history remembers for looting their countries: Marcos, Suharto, Mobutu, Abacha, Obiang, Putin.
Then I put every president since Eisenhower on the same scale, both parties, with every exoneration counted right alongside the convictions.
Nixon scored 41 and no other American President scored over a 25.
Trump's second term scored a 91, which ties him with Suharto and Mobutu and puts him above Marcos and Abacha.
So he is not only the most corrupt president in American history. At this pace he finishes his term level with the most corrupt rulers of the last hundred years.
