Dartmouth coins the term artificial intelligence in 1956. Seventy years later, their provost resigns for using AI to write about cheating with AI.
The technology passes the Turing test.
The administrators fails the irony test.
Have always been suspicious of folks who aren't on X/Twitter. Hard to preach accountability when nobody can reply.
SAFU to the tune of six point something billion.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.
Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions.

If anyone of the OG Holston crew from the 1940s were resurrected today we’d have like 50 $1T companies and 5 $10T already

Today we launch @VirajAero (YC F26).
We built a turbine to fly. Now it powers data centers: it makes its own cooling water from the exhaust, gets 40% more power from the same fuel, and gets permitted in weeks.
No water connection, no wait for the grid.

RIP @SirPatStew, thanks for all the Star Trek TNG growing up.
Once upon a time, when I worked at @twitter, I was asked if I wanted to be in a Vine the company was making. Turns out it was none other than Captain Jean-Luc Picard...

Watch what happened when we ran a joint hackathon with @hippocraticai to bring their AI to Proxie. The patient fall detector the team built didn’t work as planned… it was too smart. Watch to see! 🤯

Makes sense and dollars.
Today, we are announcing an agreement to acquire ADT.
Home security has the qualities we look for in the businesses we own: an essential service built on specialist expertise and earned trust.
We see an opportunity to build on that foundation for decades, investing in its people and technology to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
Our ambition is to help ADT define the next era of trusted home security.

How the heck does a single wallet have billions in it?

1/4 EIP-7702 can turn the wallet itself into the sweeper.
A Binance-labeled wallet moved 167,464 ETH + 63 tokens, including 1.615B USDT, just 3m24s after a signed delegation was installed.
This is bad.

Funds are SAFU.
The FU is confirmed. The SA is under investigation.
