I have decided to move over to Instagram to ensure that I continue to reach my constituents and engage younger people in local politics. You can follow me @Cllr_Rhys_Chant (the same as X)

City doesn't want West Street sites such as the old House of Fraser building to become residential - they don't think it's the right place for it @ChichesterDC #LDReporter

Rhys Chant said there is a lot of good in the document but they have issues with 'a lack of embedded vision' in its contents & there is not enough in the plan. 'We should be striving for more not settling for half way'. Too much land use not enough of anything else #LDReporter
Tells you everything you need to know about the need for a PR based system

Tommorow evening it’s the #ChichesterArtsForum at the City Council. It will be a year since we started this journey of making culture more collaborative and connected and I am so pleased with how far it’s come. Come along tomorrow and help inform the future of arts in #Chichester

Congrats & best of luck to all those getting their #alevels2024 results today! Welcome to all those coming to #Chichester. The skills, memories and friends I made at @chiuni/@ChiUniTheatre are some of the best I could’ve hoped for.

You have until Saturday to visit the Chichester Camera Club’s Annual Exhibition in @chichestercitycouncil’s Council House on North Street. It’s free entry and visitors will be asked to choose their favourite photograph, a task I found extremely difficult due to the high level of local talent! #localphotographers #chichestercameraclub #chichestercreative #thingstodoinchichester
Wonderful to be at the premier of Chichester Filmmaker's first community production, #TheBarn. As Chair of the Arts Forum at @chichester_city, I know how important community arts projects and groups like this are. I am so proud of the talent and emerging art(ists) in #Chichester

Thank you for your time yesterday and for your insight into how violence against animals and #VAWG are linked.
“We know those who harm animals also harm people and, if we apply that knowledge to safeguarding strategies, we can reduce overall violent crime. By protecting animals, we can make people safer too.” Great to meet up with @JessBrownFuller yesterday to talk about #VAWG prevention

Said it before I’ll say it again. If you can afford a holiday that’s fine. But for those of us who can’t, taking your kids to the beach for a paddle, or swim in a river is now a luxury we’ve had taken away. It may not sound like much to you but for us it was everything. So knowing water companies would rather pay their shareholders than look after the infrastructure, why should WE be bailing them out? We should renationalise… who’s gonna look after it better, a company who chose to neglect the system and pay shareholders or us as country owning it again?

Pleased to meet new Lib Dem MPs @RachelGilmourLD @JessBrownFuller @GideonJAmos and @AdamJamesDance in Westminster today.
I look forward to working together to press for urgent reform of the broken system which is forcing dentists out of the NHS. @TheBDA

It is good to see coverage of the crisis in higher education in the mainstream media.
A funding crisis is driving a financial crisis in some universities, whilst others are using the crisis as an umbrella to attack staff.

I’m concerned that Wes Streeting is considering making permanent the ban on puberty blockers. We must avoid politicising young people’s healthcare. Proper funding for health services for young trans people is needed & treatment decisions left between doctors and their patients.
Huge thank you and congratulations to the team at @ChichesterFT on receiving planning permission for The Nest. A really exciting and ambitious development for the arts in #Chichester! Look forward to seeing the excellent work and emerging artists who come through the project!
So incredibly proud of @JessBrownFuller and our team today! Watching her swear in whilst tidying up our campaign office feels so surreal. I will do all I can to help her make a difference, to put #ChichesterFirst and secure #AFairDeal with the #LibDems in #Chichester
