Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Women are calling out Mercy Masika for organising a “Becoming a Wife Masterclass,” arguing that she should have focused on femicide, gender-based violence, financial independence, and other pressing issues.
Fair enough. These issues matter. But why aren’t the same women organising masterclasses, forums, campaigns, and initiatives on the very issues they insist Mercy should have addressed?
Why must her platform become their preferred platform? Why must her calling become their calling?
If femicide is your concern, organise a forum. If financial independence is your priority, teach financial literacy. If gender-based violence concerns you, mobilise resources and support survivors.
You cannot spend your time criticising someone for doing something you consider unimportant while doing absolutely nothing about the things you consider important.
Not every initiative must address every social problem to justify its existence. A woman can teach about marriage without claiming marriage is the ultimate measure of a woman’s worth. These issues are not mutually exclusive.
And now that the event is reportedly fully booked and ready to proceed, what exactly are the critics hoping to achieve? Cancel an event because it doesn’t align with their personal priorities?
You don’t have to agree with Mercy. You don’t have to attend her masterclass. You’re free to organise your own event that addresses the issues you consider more urgent.

Gospel singer Mercy Masika is under fire for announcing a marriage masterclass that neglects 47 subjects she never promised to teach.
The scandal broke when concerned Kenyans examined Becoming a Wife and discovered, to their horror, that it appeared to be about becoming a wife.
Critics demanded sessions on gender-based violence and women's financial independence, questioning why Masika was spending time on the subject printed on her poster.
Others condemned the absence of Becoming a Husband, accusing her of organising one event instead of two, and questioning whether men were expected to become husbands unsupervised.
Her invitation to women seeking Christian marriage guidance only intensified fears that grown women might choose what they want to learn without consulting strangers online.
Critics have demanded an immediate curriculum overhaul, warning that allowing people to teach only what they advertised could strip non-attendees of their right to dictate the syllabus.

Where are those screaming oh these are trees that needed to be harvested when you did not plant them in the first place.
Enjoy the desolate piece of land now as we wait for Elnino to sweep the top soil to river tana and silt what remains of our dams and end up bleaching the corals reef in Indian ocean.
This is criminal.
