These owners will end up using next Summers transfer budget to sack Carrick and appoint a new manager. So whoever the new manager is they're already going into the job with both hands tied behind their back.
Manchester United can't afford to sack Carrick. These owners have completed ruined the club. #GlazersOut #INEOSOUT
🚨 JUST IN: The cost of dismissing Michael Carrick four months into a two-year contract, combined with the inevitable exits of staff and the price of hiring a replacement, could be considerable for Manchester United.

🚨 JUST IN: Eddie Howe is among the front-runners to replace under-pressure Manchester United manager Michael Carrick, with technical director Jason Wilcox favouring a coach with Premier League experience. Howe left Newcastle by mutual consent in the summer after nearly five years is effectively still under contract with the Magpies, meaning United would face a compensation bill of around £3M to hire him - significantly less than the sums demanded for alternatives such as Fabian Hürzeler or Unai Emery.
Sources close to Howe say he is enjoying time with his family and is not desperate to return to work, but he would be open to the Old Trafford job if offered.

I don't want to hear about football costs when £38.9 million was paid by the club in the past financial year servicing the debt created by the Glazers' takeover.
£1.012 billion & counting, but hey let's cry poor when it comes to doing what's best for Manchester United.

‘No final decision has been taken’ on Michael Carrick.
This club is finished.

🚨💣 BREAKING:
People close to Manchester United view the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann as UNLIKELY.

Last week - Carrick must win the Bournemouth game or he’s sacked
Now - Carrick is taking training as Manchester United manager
How incompetent and useless are our board, we’re run by absolute clowns

🚨 JUST IN:
🗣️ @lauriewhitwell on what Manchester United fans should expect tomorrow on the head-coach front:
"As I said, Michael Carrick will take training tomorrow. It would feel strange to then make a decision on his future after that point. […]
[would it be unfair to have him take training and sack him before the Chelsea game?] They need to clarify that, absolutely. It needs to be made clear. That wouldn’t be fair. How is that at all justifiable?"
[@TOTDevils]
🚨🗣️ @lauriewhitwell on the possibility of Julian Nagelsmann becoming Manchester United head-coach:
"Julian Nagelsmann, we’ve spoken about him previously. Christopher Vivell I’m told likes him, but ultimately Jason Wilcox is the senior of the hierarchy so his opinion would hold sway - even in this current climate. I’m not sure on that one."
[@TOTDevils]
🚨🗣️ @lauriewhitwell on the potential finances involved with appointing Eddie Howe as Manchester United head-coach:
"That’s a consideration amongst all of this as well [paying Newcastle compensation]. I think Howe did pretty well at Newcastle in terms of his salary, Jason Tindall as well. There’s a financial consideration in all of this. Obviously there’s the potential cost of dismissing Michael Carrick.
Changing managers in this way comes at a cost. Whether that’s part of the discussions why we haven’t had an answer, a definitive answer, at this moment."
[@TOTDevils]
🚨🗣️ @lauriewhitwell on Eddie Howe possibly becoming the next manager of Manchester United:
"I think it’s still the case and that’s for some people at the club, Eddie Howe has the most compelling case with getting Bournemouth promoted and keeping them in the Premier League and his time at Newcastle, getting them in the Champions League and showing some muscle in that competition. I know that won’t enamour people and I can understand that.
He won’t be a free agent from what I understand even though he’s not at Newcastle anymore. In the terms of his contract because it was the case of him stepping away from Newcastle, they protect themselves by having compensation if he gets a job theoretically in the next twelve months.
It’s certainly the case that United would have to pay, I’m not sure exactly how much but it’s in the region of a few million and I think that’s a consideration amongst all of this."
[@TOTDevils]
🚨🚨🗣️ @AndyMitten on why the decision on Michael Carrick’s future is taking so long:
"There’s a lot of people part of this decision due to Manchester United’s ownership structure. It’s not just one person that needs to say ‘enough, we’re changing managers’ and there has to be consultation between different groups including the Glazers in America who are in a different time-zone. They don’t want to rush into any decision.
From Michael Carrick’s perspective it’s business as usual even though it’s not. He was doing what he going to do [watch U21’s] on Monday and I do think he’s a bit gutted. He greatly appreciated the support, but he’s gutted about what’s happened to Manchester United."

🚨💣 BREAKING:
🗣️ @lauriewhitwell on the current status of Michael Carrick:
"As we have it right now, I wouldn’t anticipate an update today either way on the future of Michael Carrick. I’d go further and say I’d anticipate him taking the training session tomorrow at Carrington.
That’s the mood I’m getting. It’s not a fast moving situation, but it is moving. I wouldn’t even say that he’s staying as Manchester United manager, but the anticipation as it stands is that he’ll take training tomorrow morning."

🚨 JUST IN: There is a growing level of support for Julian Nagelsmann to take over from Michael Carrick if he is sacked.
