Criticising Isomorphic Labs for not having a drug in clinical trials is like criticising Moderna in 2014 for not having an mRNA vaccine in trials.
Moderna never wanted to make one vaccine. They wanted a system that could make any mRNA vaccine. That system just produced a custom cancer vaccine in hours built from each patient’s own tumour that passed Phase 3.
Isomorphic is trying to do the same for drugs like small molecules. Not one drug. A system that can design any drug.
If your prototype makes drugs that do 20% of what you want, and in a year or two it’ll do 80%, why would you push the 20% versions through nine-figure clinical trials?
You wouldn’t. You’d keep improving the system.
So these companies look like they’re doing nothing, and then they do everything all at once.

Molecular testing can reveal underlying differences, but that's slow and expensive.
Introducing Holon-S1, our platform to predict genes and biomarkers from routine pathology slides.
• beats two other models at predicting spatial gene activity in a controlled comparison
• has identified potentially novel biomarkers in breast cancer and colon cancer
• evaluated across 16 organ types and more than 15 scanners, using slides from both formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded and fresh-frozen tissue.
We believe Holon-S1 has the potential to help researchers find new biomarkers in slides they already have, discover treatment targets, and bring more personalized cancer care within reach!
