The Democrats may have taken control of the House and the Senate, they may have humiliated Donald Trump and the Republican Party, but the real fight is only beginning. It is not simply a battle to hold the corrupt Trump regime to account, something that can only be done if the Democrats are willing overcome their reluctance to carry out impeachment proceedings against the president. It is also a battle to sweep away the corporate-indentured hierarchy of the Democratic Party, including Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. The Democratic Party since the presidency of Bill Clinton, who gave us the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the greatest betrayal of the working class since the 1947 Taft-Hartley Act, and gutted New Deal-era welfare programs such as the Aid to Families with Dependent Children, is a more polished version of corporate and oligarchic rule, abjectly subservient to the war machine, the Israel lobby and their funders in the billionaire class. The country is broken. Corruption, in both parties, is endemic. Federal agencies have been hollowed out and destroyed. The courts, including the Supreme Court, have been handed over to right-wing ideologues. The working class is crippled with debt peonage and substandard wages. Constitutional norms and protections have been erased. Billionaires, including Trump, pay little to no income tax. The 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court ruling, which allows big business to fund their hand-picked candidates, sustains a system of legalized bribery. The public may clamor for a raise in the minimum wage, Medicare for All, regulation of the big banks and private equity firms, an end to arms shipments to Israel and campaign finance reform, but no one in the leadership of the Democratic Party listens or cares. They serve their paymasters. Will cutthroat capitalism, sold to us under the sanitized name of neoliberalism, be allowed to continue to impoverish the citizenry and funnel wealth upwards into the hands of the 1 percent? Will corporations be regulated and policed? Will corporate criminals be brought to trial? Will our democracy be restored? Or will the grotesque sight of a trillionaire, Elon Musk, gutting federal agencies and pouring hundreds of millions into elections to try and control the outcome be normalized? The handful of politicians who attempt to confront the corruption and the devastation visited on the American working class through deindustrialization and deregulation, such as Bernie Sanders, see their campaigns sabotaged by the Democratic Party leadership, including Barack Obama. We must demand that progressive candidates, including Michigan senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed and Maine’s Troy Jackson, build coalitions to oust the Democratic Party leadership, raise the minimum wage, enact universal health care, prosecute corporate crime and impeach Trump. It will be up to us. The Democratic Party hierarchy will see the results not as a repudiation of Trump, but an endorsement of the flaccid and ineffectual position of a party that stands for little and fights for less. This would be yet another betrayal by the Democrats of voters. It would keep alive the very real prospect of another fascist, one better organized and more intelligent, taking the White House in two years. Of course, this fight will mean not only jettisoning a corrupt Democratic Party leadership, but turning on the mega-donors, lobbyists and corporations that fund and control the Democratic Party. The effort to wrest the party back from the hands of corporations and oligarchs will be vicious and difficult. It will require us to rely on the power of mass movements to sever these bonds. Nothing else will work. If we fail, our anemic democracy will not be saved by these midterm elections, but doomed.

Dear MAGA, let me explain something. You have been taught that anything with the word social in it is communism. It isn’t. Social Security isn’t communism. Medicare isn’t communism. And neither is the public school your children attend or the fire department that saves your house. Norway and Denmark are capitalist countries. People own businesses, buy houses, make fortunes, invest in stocks and own guns. The difference is that their governments make capitalism work for ordinary people, not just billionaires. Here is what that means in everyday life. You get cancer. You receive treatment without facing a ruinous hospital bill. Your wife has a baby. She gets months of paid parental leave. Your child wants to attend university. Tuition is free at public universities for eligible students. You work hard. You get five weeks of paid vacation. You lose your job. There is a safety net to help you get back on your feet And none of this requires giving up your house, your truck, your religion or your freedom. Now here is the part you really need to understand. You are already paying taxes. The question is what you get back. In Europe, more of that money comes back to ordinary families through healthcare, education and financial security. In America, politicians have convinced millions of working people that asking for those things is socialism, while demanding lower taxes for billionaires is freedom. You have been persuaded to fight against benefits you would personally enjoy, in order to protect fortunes you will never possess. Elon Musk does not need you to defend his wallet. Your family needs you to defend yours.

Dave Smith lays it out bluntly to Piers Morgan: Donald Trump squandered every ounce of political leverage he had by foolishly prioritising Israel’s interests over his own country and political base. He effectively sacrificed his own political capital for a foreign government.

The US midterms elections turned out to be an utter disaster for Donald Trump and Republicans. This disaster had many factors, but by far and away the biggest factor started on February 28th when Donald Trump launched his foolish war against Iran for Israel. After campaigning on a platform of being a ‘peace President’, Donald Trump betrayed the hopes of the American people and became the second coming of George W. Bush. After railing against the madness and delusions of neocon foreign policy, he appointed the same pro-Israel neocons to the highest positions in his administration, who convinced him that a war on Iran would somehow be a good idea. The campaign donations and power of the Israel lobby over American foreign policy convinced him to throw his domestic agenda of an era of American revival out of the window, and pursue a foreign war so obviously disastrous, that not even his war criminal predecessors could be convinced by Israel to launch it. The hubris and disaster began on day one. By assassinating Ali Khamenei and Iran’s leadership, which had continuously exercised restraint and avoided a major war, they allowed a more hardline and determined Iranian leadership to take power and impose tremendous costs on the US, and entire global economy. The fantasy of a regime change uprising evaporated into thin air as the Iranian population rallied around the flag, and the only regime change turned out to be replacing Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei. A war that was supposed to last ‘a few weeks’ has instead gone on for 250 days. Genocidal threats of wiping out an entire civilisation achieved nothing in negotiations, the Strait of Hormuz still has not returned to pre-war conditions, and global energy prices remain sharply elevated. Despite War Secretary Pete Hegseth’s odious worship of American warplanes bringing ‘death and destruction, all day long’, none of the US’ war objectives were achieved. As each day passes, the US economy and global economy are pushed closer to a major crisis. Already struggling working class Americans are facing financial misery as the rising cost of living from Trump’s war suffocates them. And yet stunningly, Donald Trump has not realised his catastrophic mistake, and is considering resuming the war on Iran despite global oil reserves already exhausted, leaving the US and global economy without any buffer for the consequences of a resumed war. The alarming short-sightedness of the American President, the global disaster he has caused, and the bewildering display of hypnotised loyalty to genocidal war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, who achieved his dream of getting the US to fight Israel’s war against Iran for him, has infuriated millions of struggling Americans, and the midterm results reflect it. America First was exposed as codeword for Israel First, and the American people paid the price for it. Trump sold the vision of reviving the American Dream for Netanyahu’s dream of Israeli hegemony, and a Greater Israel. Washington’s empire is now in a paralysed state of dysfunction: stuck in a quagmire abroad, its economy creaking under the weight of the quagmire, and political deadlock locked in with a Democrat ‘blue wave.’ Of course, nothing will fundamentally change in the US, since the Democrats and Republicans simply represent different parts of the capitalist class that rapaciously concentrate more wealth into its hands, while the rest increasingly own nothing. Whatever is left of the US’ soft power evaporates into thin air, its hard power is increasingly questioned as supposedly the world’s most powerful military could not defeat a regional power it has kept in economic misery for over 4 decades with sanctions, and most of the world views the US as a dangerous rogue state that brings nothing but war and destruction, disrupting the rest of the world’s concentration on economic development. A humiliating state of affairs for the empire in decline.

The only reason Trump won the 2024 election is because the Biden-Harris administration was very unpopular and he deceived Americans into believing two main things: 1, he would bring down prices, following sky-high inflation; and 2, he would stop waging wars. Trump blatantly lied about both. Inflation in the US keeps rising. Gasoline prices have skyrocketed (due to Trump's wars). Food is expensive. Housing costs are out of control. Healthcare is a disaster. But Trump only cares about the stock market and AI data centers. Meanwhile, Trump launched a war of aggression against Iran, continued sponsoring Israel's genocide in Gaza, bombed Yemen, invaded Venezuela, and blockaded Cuba, while waging nonstop trade war and failing to stop the proxy war in Ukraine. Let's be clear here: the Democrats' overwhelming victory in the midterm is not because Americans suddenly love the Democratic Party. In fact, DNC leadership has mostly sat on its hands and has done very little to oppose Trump's destructive oligarchic agenda. Rather, this overwhelming victory represents the people's overwhelming rejection of US wars, Israel, and a government that only cares about Big Tech corporate oligarchs.

Spain colonized Philippines for 300 years, named the country after a Spanish king. America then came along, took the colony from Spain, killed a million Filipino “freedom fighters” so America can “civilize the barbarians” Then Japan came and burnt Manila to the ground But China is the enemy supposedly even though China have never done anything to Philippines
🇵🇭🙄 Frankly speaking, this Laotian doesn't know what she's talking about and she's insensitive to the plight of Filipinos being bullied by Communist China. Ignorance is bliss for people like her.

Chiang Kai Shek was American backed in the so-called “civil war”. If the Americans had won, China would be as poor as India is today and you would never hear the West complain about China. They would be doing their white saviour shtick like they did back in their glory days of colonial rule.
If Chiang Kai-Shek had won, today China would be utterly poverty-stricken, have zero nuclear weapons, and would probably be host to a lot of U.S. military bases

“China doesn't have elections! Every Election Day proves America is better than China!” Does holding elections automatically make the United States a better country than China? I don't believe so. And today's midterm elections are a perfect example of why👇 Today, millions of Americans will head to the polls to vote. If Democrats win both the House and Senate, they'll control Congress and have the power to block much of Trump's legislative agenda for the next two years. But think about the incredible irony here. For millions of Americans, the BEST possible outcome of this election is simply preventing the other side from accomplishing anything. That's it. Not building better infrastructure. Not improving healthcare. Not investing in education. Not fixing America's crumbling public transportation systems. Just stopping the other party. We've reached a point where political gridlock is celebrated as a victory. And somehow, we're supposed to believe this automatically makes our political system superior to China's? Let's look at the other side. China doesn't have competitive national elections where citizens can vote the Communist Party out of power. That's a fact. China is governed by the CPC, although eight other legally recognized political parties also exist. But here's the fundamental difference I see between these two systems: In America, you CAN change the party, but you often CAN'T change the policy. In China, you CAN'T change the ruling party, but you CAN change the policy. For decades, Americans have elected Republicans and Democrats who promise change. Yet Washington continues pouring enormous resources into overseas military operations while Americans struggle with healthcare costs, aging infrastructure, and an increasingly unaffordable cost of living. Meanwhile, China has spent decades investing heavily in high-speed rail, highways, airports, hospitals, schools, and modern metro systems. The infrastructure that millions of ordinary people actually use every single day. China has built the world's largest high-speed rail network. Entire cities have been transformed. Hundreds of millions of people have escaped extreme poverty over the past several decades. These are tangible improvements in people's lives. I think we should judge a government by what it actually DELIVERS to its citizens? Now, I'm grateful to have the right to vote as an American. I value that right enormously. But I'm also deeply frustrated that the best outcome many Americans can realistically hope for today is two more years of political paralysis. Two more years of Republicans and Democrats fighting each other while the country's biggest problems remain unresolved. Meanwhile, China will continue pursuing its long-term development priorities, investing in infrastructure, technology, manufacturing, and economic growth. Democracy should be judged by more than the ability to cast a ballot. Government should also be judged by its ability to improve people's lives. I'll let you decide which system is delivering better results.

When they say China is "rising," ask them one question. Rising from what? China had a civil service examination system while Europe was still in feudal darkness. It had movable type, paper money, and navigational compasses centuries before the West. It fed the largest population on earth through administrative systems of extraordinary complexity. China did not rise. China was interrupted. By opium. By gunboats. By the specific violence of the 19th century, when Western powers arrived and called their looting a "civilizing mission." What the West calls China’s rise is simply China’s return. The anxiety in Western commentary is not about the future. It is about what the return implies about who was actually barbaric during the interruption.

This is what your taxes paid for in Zelensky’s Ukraine: A reportedly 14-year-old boy rescued after protesters stormed a building which had been turned into a prison, allegedly where Ukraine’s National Guard (Azov Battalion neo-Nazis) were torturing people who they claim are ‘deserters’. The discovery of these makeshift, hellish prisons has caused outrage across Ukraine. Not only do your taxes go towards the deaths of endless Ukrainians, and golden toilets for Zelensky’s inner circle, but also towards torturing Ukrainians in Zelensky’s dungeons.
President of Belarus🇧🇾 Alexander Lukashenko: ‘If the war in Ukraine is not stopped, we will come to World War 3.’ European nations are preparing for war against Russia. NATO weaponry is being fired into Russia. All it takes is one NATO missile fired from Ukraine causing a mass casualty event in Russia to accelerate a direct NATO-Russia war. Not even during the ‘Cold War’ did NATO arm a proxy to fire missiles into the Soviet Union.
