An important read. The magic and grandeur of live cricket often mask the fear and uncertainty women have to navigate just to be part of the game.
Good piece @swaris16 👏🏼

We will see apologies like this soon. Many of them.
Imagine getting belted by Abhishek Sharma, with a Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at the non-striker’s end
… and a Sanju Samson waiting in the dugout.
India chasing 180 in a T20I.
Pakistan chasing 242 in an ODI.
Two perfect examples of how you don’t need flat, high-scoring pitches to make this sport entertaining.
These nail-biters are cricket’s legacy. An occasional 350+ in ODIs or 220+ in T20Is looks good, but this is what made this sport what it is today.
Give us a battle between bat and ball, and we won’t have to say “this format is alive” after every 10 games.
“We said.. Allegedly”🤦🏼♂️
Oh my god. The level of journalism in this country… can’t even call them a journalist at this point.

The NewsClick case becomes the flashpoint in a debate between @PreetiChoudhry and @Akshita_N over alleged foreign funding of protests. After extensive coverage of accusations linking the platform to Chinese funding and violence, the discussion turns to the court’s observations. The larger question: what responsibility does the media have when serious allegations are not established by evidence?

Vaibhav comes in for Ishan Kishan and will bat at No. 3, confirms Iyer.
Also, Prince replaces Mayank Yadav.

In September, @IndianExpress' investigation revealed that two Election Commissioners had written separately to the Cabinet Secretary seeking action against a senior officer inside the EC.
What happened to those letters is now on record.
File notings obtained under RTI by Commodore Lokesh Batra (retd) show the Cabinet Secretariat discussed the letters on August 3 & 4, then decided to do nothing beyond acknowledging them.
The reasoning? Sandhu and Joshi had written in their individual capacity, not as the Commission.
“In the absence of any official communication from the Commission as a whole, any action at this stage may be inappropriate. It may also be construed as interference in the functioning of the Constitutional Body.”
The Commission, as our investigation has shown, had not met as a full body for FOUR months.
