Energy costs are the single biggest brake on industry.
Industrial electricity in Mississippi costs about 7 cents a kilowatt-hour. British manufacturers pay about three times that.

It is officially budget day.
I expect Burnham and Healey will try and dress up their extra £150 a year for families as a great help, all while defence gets neglected.
The only people who will actually feel the benefit will be those on welfare. The average working Brit will be worse off.
Will Burnham call a general election after the budget? I believe yes. We will see his polling lead disappear and Burnham will take a gamble in hopes to have a coalition with the Lib Dems.

Imagine 14 years of a conservative government. 7m third world immigrants imported into the U.K. on benefits paid by actual tax payers. Record national debt of £3 trillion, services collapsing under the weight of immigration, the highest power costs in the world, thanks to Tory net zero insanity…
essexlive.news/news/essex-ne… My message to those who might vote ReformUK at the next General Election…. Just imagine if the whole country was being run like this! With a ReformUK government in Whitehall??

The Tory dead cat bounce is over.
Reform has bottomed out and is about to surge.
Keep the faith.

To think that the Prime Minister used to be so strongly against free movement of people in the EU as it was bad for his constituents. Is Leigh that far from Makerfield? (No, part of Leigh went into Makerfield in the last boundary changes).

MPs HECKLE me as I suggest cuts to foreign aid.
Why is it so controversial to demand we put the British people first?

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s very own survey figures expose the ever growing disconnect between Net Stupid Zero ideology and what the British public actually want.
Only Reform UK will scrap Net Zero and bring your energy bills down. 🇬🇧

The party of ‘hope’.
Hope that taxpayers continue to go to work full time so that govt can take our money and hand it to those who don’t bother, or those who arrive on our shores expecting handouts.

Despite its stated concern for pubs Labour will hike the price of a pint once more.
As a distraction, Labour is once again tinkering around with tariffs in order to generate some positive news about minor reductions in food prices. Some tariffs, such as those on gherkins and garlic, have been suspended for a period.
In fact it's a no-brainer to scrap permanently all tariffs on food items that are not produced in the UK. Here are some examples:
1. Fresh bananas
2. Fresh plantains
3. Dried bananas
4. Dried plantains
5. Avocados
6. Limes
7. Other specialist citrus fruits
8. Fresh figs
9. Dried figs
10. Fresh olives
11. Frozen olives
12. Extra virgin olive oil
13. Other virgin olive oil
14. Other olive oil
15. Dried papayas
16. Dried tropical-fruit mixtures
17. Green tea
18. Fonio grain
19. Quinoa
20. Tropical fruit preserved with sugar
21. Prepared tropical-fruit mixtures
22. Aubergines
23. Sweet peppers
24. Dried apricots
25. Dried peaches

Reform will raise the VAT threshold to £150,000 a year and scrap tax on overtime.
Small businesses and grafters are the backbone of our economy.
Labour are failing them. We will back them.
I think he's warming to Burnham 😂
I actually think they're very similar
Both willing to lie openly whilst claiming moral superiority
They also both lack any real understanding of the emergent world
Starmer though just floundered around whereas Burnham just wants to drag us backwards
Either way they both represent the intellectual bankruptcy of the Labour movement
It's done - they've got nothing

The cheap green lie
You are told that solar and wind are cheap
But you need near-100% backup when no sun or wind, paying for two systems
Data for 2025 shows that
cramming in more solar and wind makes electricity overall more and more costly

Just weeks ago, Leweston was being celebrated for its pastoral care and opportunities. Now a school founded in 1891 has closed with almost no warning. Heartbreaking for pupils, families and staff. How did it come to this? 😢
