‘Russell Brand needs to tell the truth and make amends’ says ex –girlfriend Georgina Baillie.
Speaking exclusively to 5 News, the artist and actress urged him to “tell the truth” and admit his mistakes to the women he abused. Her comments follow the verdict at Southwark Crown Court, which found the presenter guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.

I don't want to shame any particular woman here, but publicly announcing that the #RussellBrand conviction must be wrong because you went home with him and he didn't rape you makes about as much sense as saying 'well, I left 25 Cromwell Street alive, so Fred West's innocent.'

To think Brand went through all that tedious Christianity business for nothing.

Today’s Russell Brand’s conviction reminded me of one of the most powerful monologues by @SophyRidgeSky at politics hub. It was worth a watch then, and it’s definitely worth a watch now..
I don’t know what happened with Russell Brand. He denies criminality.
But I DO understand why women might not report rape to the police
My take on tonight’s #PoliticsHub 👇

Imagine two versions of yourself 20 years from now. One spent thousands of hours doomscrolling, consuming outrage, gossip, and algorithmic nonsense. The other read 1,000 books.
These two versions of you will have very different knowledge, attention spans and ways of thinking.
Reading books might be one of the best investments you can make in your future self. Especially in an AI-driven world where deep thinking, judgment and sustained attention will become increasingly valuable. The decline in reading scores over the past two decades gives readers an edge in a labour market that will be increasingly competitive for folks in their 40s and 50s.
One book a week. Twenty years. A completely different you.

The video inaccurately shows Finland and parts of North America as unmarked/unknown in its 1968 map frame, when detailed European maps included Finland by 1539 and world borders were fully mapped with known countries long before.

Russia lost 54,200 troops (killed or wounded) in October, the first month of the war over 50,000.
For their efforts, Russia has gained no net ground in October.
This is the most pointless war in the history of wars. Great job, Putin.

Some mistakes change your life forever.
Dr. Sarah Paine calls these “pivotal errors”: decisions that permanently close doors.
Think of the lie that means someone never fully trusts you again. You can tell the truth for years afterwards. You still don’t get to decide whether they believe you.
Now imagine that at the scale of a country.
Sarah spent over 20 years teaching military strategy at the US Naval War College. In our conversation, she explains how this idea applies to the conflicts unfolding around the world today.
Out now on all platforms ❤️👊🏾

Jury in Russell Brand case told it can draw adverse inferences due to his failure to mention facts relied on in his defence while being questioned under caution, as per s.34 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
Brand has said he did not remember the incidents at the time.

Kathy Bates says she was sure she never thanked her mother in her Misery Oscar speech, then the interviewer showed her the tape
"She gave up her retirement because I was born so late in life to them."
"When I won the Oscar for Misery, she said, I don't know what all the excitement about, you didn't discover the cure for cancer."
"Why did I think I didn't thank her?"
"Because she should have had my life."
"I wanted her spirit to come into me and enjoy everything I was enjoying because of what she'd given up."
Her mom's whole review of the Oscar was that she didn't cure cancer, and Kathy still believed she had shorted her that night. Then she watches herself thank her mom at home, right there in the speech. Some people never stop trying to pay their parents back. You can hear it in how quiet she gets at the end.

Bodycam footage shows Florida deputies arresting a mother at an airport after authorities say she left her four children, ages 9, 11, 12 and 14, home alone while traveling to Las Vegas for work.
Irene Miller, 50, was taken into custody Friday as she stepped off a plane. Two days earlier, one of her children had called 911 after a dumbbell fell on her 9-year-old brother's head.
When deputies arrived at the family's Kissimmee home, they found the children without adult supervision and had the injured boy taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Miller now faces four counts of child neglect.
