I think of Twitter as the death of the straw man fallacy. You can find some idiot that supports any arbitrary combination of bad ideas. We need better ways to identify real discourse.

Well fuck it. It was a good month. See you all on sbusatck, or however I have to spell it.
I'm not leaving Twitter. But the party is definitely over. And I feel like the sucker who stayed too long, while the under-age drunks with fake ids are burping and puking everywhere, and starting fights in the parking lot.

Many of my favorite things seem blindingly obvious with an ounce of hindsight. Oliver, pls pivot this into what it should always have been. Verify a real ID or a real Corp. Onetime upfront. Pair monthly costs with security services.
Legacy Verification is back with the our new Chrome extension that should go public tomorrow. Anyone who was previously verified with the old system gets a new green checkmark. Thanks to @roberrrt_s's amazing coding and @travisbrown's awesome work collecting Twitter data

Questions around AI are often framed as a battle between man and machine, ignoring what's possible when they team up instead. TED devoted a session highlighting ways that cutting-edge artists are engaging with AI. trib.al/3QN9EiF

What can we learn from “the rare humble bot,” an AI programmed to be awful at chess? It’s a “reminder that intelligent programs can still surprise, delight, and even teach within a clear framework that the user controls,” writes @_jacobsweet. theatlantic.com/technology/a…

Attackers are using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance conversational scams, such as the so-called "pig butchering" social engineering scams, over mobile devices, @proofpoint researchers say. #cybersecurity #infosec #ITsecurity bit.ly/3A7iTsr

I’ve been reluctant to try ChatGPT. Today I got over that reluctance. Now I understand why I was reluctant. The value of 90% of my skills just dropped to $0. The leverage for the remaining 10% went up 1000x. I need to recalibrate.

I remember my late, great, genetics prof in college “There are a bunch of idiots out there that think it is ‘nature + nurture’ and argue about which is bigger. What they don’t understand it is is more like ‘nature * nurture’.” - Ray Coppinger
Matt Goodwin says developments in genetic science will make younger generations more conservative as they understand the "inherent differences" between different groups.

This might be one of the best things on LLMs I’ve read. I’ve often found that when confronted with a new thing it is better to look at the edges rather than directly at it. apenwarr.ca/log/20230415

Very cool from a technical perspective. Oh, of course malware is following soon! Cybersecurity is about to get weird. @SwiftOnSecurity is this nightmare fuel?
I created BabyAGI-asi, a modification of @yoheinakajima 's babyagi that runs arbitrary python code to perform tasks - It manages to create routines for pyautogui, webscrapping, manages to execute actions on the computer and even controls its own memory🧵 github.com/oliveirabruno01/b…
