America’s story lives on our public lands, but years of neglect and deferred maintenance have threatened America’s best idea.
Chairman @RepWesterman is proud to have worked with @SteveDaines on reauthorizing the Great American Outdoors Act, @POTUS’ landmark conservation legislation that invests in our national parks and public lands to ensure they are safe, beautiful and ready to welcome visitors for generations to come.

Imagine working for Cheesecake Factory HQ this week.
In PR or government relations (do they even have that department who knows?)
What do the break room conversations sound like there…
Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

While some may try to write this off as just how politics works now, ballot-stacking should have no place in our electoral process. Run and win on your merits: your views, your policy ideas, and your accomplishments. By contrast, recruiting candidates to manipulate the field and influence voting outcomes is simply wrong. Alaskans deserve the honest truth from Mary and her campaign—what has been revealed is a pattern of lies and coverups and a culture of deception that belongs nowhere in our elections or among our elected officials.

Today I issued an Executive Order designating “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson as the official anthem of Florida.
I have also directed the @FLSecofState to erect historic markers in the City of Apopka depicting John Anderson’s contribution to Florida’s heritage.
In addition, I have tasked @FLDEPNews to work with the @SJRWMD to designate wildlife drive and trail system within Lake Apopka North Shore as the John Anderson Wildlife Drive and Trail System.

I always wonder who the target demo is for certain political ads. Like who are the people who were on the fence about Vivek Ramaswamy and Amy Action and saw this ad, and thought “you know…this changes everything”.
BOMBSHELL:
Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s own mother urges voters not to vote for her daughter.
“My name is Donna Arthur and I’m Amy Acton’s mother. I worked at Children and Family Service Association, building one of the first two sexual abuse programs in America.
I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent—and it’s not easy for a mother to say this—but Amy has a serious problem.
She is a liar. She lies about her past. She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life.
My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself. People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that.
Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.”
That’s one hell of an October surprise.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
National Review has identified court documentation showing that Cledith Arthur, Donna Arthur's husband, was indicted by a grand jury in 1978 for sexual contact with Acton.
NR also found that Donna Arthur pled guilty to theft in 1996 and was accused of animal abuse in 2021.

Franklin County, Virginia residents rejoice.
The Supreme Court has agreed to weigh in on the constitutionality of an 1868 federal law that imposes a tax on distilled spirits but also bans home distilleries – that is, the at-home production of spirits like bourbon and whiskey.
