The underfunding of education is negatively impacting Ontario. In 2024-2025, public schools receive $1,500 less per student than in 2018, when the Ford government took office. Recent #OSSTF contract negotiations resulted in arbitration. Time to elect a pro-education gov't in Ont.

This weekend, #OSSTF President @karenosstf spoke with the CBC about the election THIS THURSDAY!
Karen shared how under the PC's leadership, public education hasn't been properly funded, which has impacts across the system.
"It has had a massive impact where directors, superintendents, school board associations, everybody is speaking out. The students of the province are suffering because of these cuts."

JOINT STATEMENT: Investment in Education is the Foundation of a Thriving Society and Resilient Economy!
Organizations representing partners for publicly funded education have released a CRITICAL statement today, URGING the government and Ministry of Education to shift their perspective and recognize that investing in education yields substantial societal and economic long-term benefits.
Education is being underfunded, creating a serious staffing crisis in Ontario schools. The absence of qualified teachers, education workers, and administrators not only strains existing staff, but also compromises the quality of education our students receive. Education is not merely a service; it is a cornerstone of our society.
Teachers, principals/vice-principals, and education workers are dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to empower the next generation, and they deserve to be respected, valued and celebrated.

It’s about more than history. It’s about the future. It’s a living legacy—a bridge between past achievements and the next generation of changemakers. 🌟

ICYMI: Absolutely scathing report from @OntAutism on the state of special education in Ontario!
❌ half of families report feeling their child does not receive meaningful education
❌ half of families say they're worried for their child's safety
❌ 82% of families reported at least 1 SAFETY CONCERN for their special education child
❌ More than a THIRD of families report their child did not feel safe, supported, or happy at school
In a province as prosperous as Ontario, there is NO REASON for students to feel unsafe and unsupported at school. We can & must invest in special education supports & programs to ensure we are meeting every student's needs.
