A note to clients finding out this week that they purchased work from an undisclosed Broker / a #jruhub affiliated account.
Most of us were completely unaware of what jruhub is. This is the exact reason EAH was created, to compile information in one location, that would hopefully help explain things and bring awareness .
When people are talking about "being scammed" they are not talking about you the client being scammed. The artists who work on your commissions are the ones getting scammed.
Many passed employees have tried to speak out about jruhub and their affiliated studios, and have been silenced. Social media accounts hacked and banned. Threaten and doxxed by their employer. Some are afraid to speak out publicly at all due to retaliation and being in close proximity to the studios.
They hire children and have them take client commissions for no pay (art education is considered their pay, and no you the client arent made aware a student is making your commission). They also have these children (as young as 14) working on NSFW commissions. They have a hiring age cap & a lot of their hiring ads prefer you be single (Why your marital status matters is wild on its own).
I beg that you please take a couple minutes out of your day and look into jruhub before deciding to continue to support the studios affiliated with them.

It's kinda frightening that people are now, that @_VGen_ banned so many brokers wich had connections to JRU-HUB, defending those artists because the contact was so nice, they were cheap and they promised they never were connected to Jruhub when i asked. Do you also believe Trump?

I'm so proud of the community for standing up and not backing down about the #jruhub problem happening on @_VGen_
I know this has been an on going issue that has been brought up since before EAH was even created, but after 8 long months of documenting everything we finally were able to provide Vgen enough evidence to link these accounts together to allow them to Suspend/Ban the accounts under their terms of service.
This work won't be over, #jruhub will continue to try to get onto the platform(s) with new accounts, and they will definitely try to move platforms, Keep your eye peeled and keep reporting!

I'm literally in the middle of working on commissions when I get this email saying my account has been indefinitely suspended like??? HUH???
My VGen account was suspended for allegedly violating the Group Accounts Policy??? even though I handle all my commissions myself???

Hi everyone, I have some bad news to share. It might be good news for those who dislike me, though.
My VGen account has just been suspended for “Breaking our Group Accounts Policy.”
A little background on my journey with VGen: I'm an independent artist, but I previously worked with a studio affiliated with the community that's been under discussion recently. However, I left several years ago.
A few months ago, my VGen account was also flagged as a broker. I contacted the VGen team and provided evidence that I was no longer affiliated with them. After a thorough investigation, VGen confirmed that I wasn't part of any group or broker network, and the broker label was removed from my account.
That's why this new suspension is confusing and upsetting. I had already gone through an investigation and provided evidence of my independence, so I genuinely don't understand what has changed or why my account is now being suspended under this policy.
I've contacted the VGen team again and am waiting for their response. I sincerely hope this can be clarified and resolved soon.
Thank you to everyone who's been supporting me and my work during this difficult time. I'll share an update when I know more 💙

My account was suspended over AI content found in a thumbnail featuring artwork provided by my client, not created by me. I've tried explaining everything, but I'm still unsure what else I can do 😭
This is my livelihood, and I've spent so much time building my little music journey from scratch. I just hope I can get a fair chance to sort this out

I am getting increasingly concerned with the number of new broker accounts appearing on vgen quite quickly and the speed at which they are able to distribute codes to one another.
There has to be a way to slow this down

I made a post for artists how to stay away from getting involved with brokers, and this one will be about:
WHAT ARE BROKERS and why is it BAD TO COMMISSION them.
👥 WHAT ARE BROKERS?
- Basically from what I know, a broker is a 'middleman' between the artists, think of it like a 'manager' but they are usually horrible people.
- Most brokers heavily exploit the poor artists who are minors, forcing them to draw NSFW, pay them like $5-$20 when they get for example $200, hold their legal IDs and PayPal with changed passwords on VGen so that they are 100% of control with finances and if the artists were ever to complain or be late to work, the middleman would threaten to dox them online, ruin their reputation and strip away their income.
- The middleman is the one who promised and manipulated the artists, promised them good pay, and huge growth but it's a trap. The situation is so saddening, once you get out it's like you can never get out... They are in really vunarable place.
Real bussiness pay with their own banking account, never ask for yours.
That's the difference. While there might be legitimate brokers, it feels insanely rare in this shady broker situation.
⚠️ WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID COMMISSIONING THEM?
- From what I've noticed they usually offer really cheap and unrealistic prices for probably many hours of work/labor put. While it seems 'afordable' it's actually just exploitation.
- The brokers keep swarming us; independent artists who actually care, so I highly encourage to *support individuals* instead. You'd be actually paying to support someone rather than giving money to those horrible people who keep the money for themselves and treat their artists like machines instead of human beings that they are.
- On the side note, there are brokers who pretend to be individuals, so it's not all black and white. And I still don't understand why VGen only drops a broker label when it comes to light instead of banning them immediately for being shady. Legit bussiness wouldn't need to hide what they are.
