Found some clear skies and had a great experience with the grandkids. Worth every penny and all the time spent to experience this again, with family this time.

RIDICULOUS: Bullies who think it’s ok to walk scowling into a grocery store or rec facility etc. - without a mandated mask on - & put (often young) staff into a difficult conflict-resolution situation. PLS:Stop looking for fights & respect people just trying to do their job. – at Strathcona County, Alberta

Got up early this morning to try and catch the old crescent moon about 14 hours from New Moon. There was just enough cloud to hide the moon but I did get a bit of the Zodiacal Light about 1 1/2 hours before sunrise

Earth Hour 8:30-9:30 tonight. What would this look like if every light was dimmed by just 10%. Most people would never even notice and it would have a major effect on wildlife, power consumption and astronomy. Lets stop lighting the sky and direct light where it's needed.
Tonight when you go to bed, your clock will be UTC-6 hrs, When you wake up in the morning it will still be UTC-6 hrs. Unlike the rest of Canada, we leave our clocks alone but you will have to adjust an extra hour for events in all those other time zones.

This morning Mercury is 0.3 degrees left of Jupiter. Saturn is also in the picture with all being visible with binoculars. Look for it just before sunrise.

Finally a clear warm night in Sask. I got out with the telescope and the camera. I might have split Sirius B but will try again tonight to be sure. I did get a picture of Mars passing the Pleaides. Take a look tonight to see how far Mars has moved in 24 hours.
