I was honoured to be a guest on Blueprints of Disruption to share a bit of my experience within Canada's racist justice system. I'm so grateful to Jessa McLean and Santiago Helou Quintero for lending me their platform. The justice system explicitly stated they wanted to make an example of me. What they actually did was make an example of themselves. When they allowed a man who shot people with a nailgun while shouting "All Palestinians will die!", and physically assaulted two other people to walk. Reuban Abramov. When they allowed a man spray-painting hate speech about Palestinians across the Greater Toronto Area to walk. Robert Walker. When they allowed a woman violently ripping a Hijab off a muslim woman's head to walk. Lorna Bernbaum. When they jailed a woman for the equivalent of 17 months in jail for sounding a whistle when two men violently entered a peaceful protest, and both men physically grabbing her. Me. All of these in the name of Canada’s complicity in the genocide of the Palestinian people and land. In the spirit of the court's quest to make an example of me, I would like it to be this: No matter how hard they come for you for standing up to this genocide, you press on and fight harder. Long live the resistance ✊🏼

Of course they did. They just had them under their boot for a year under bunk charges. The Crown is a shield for genocide
